Looking at the picture with the couple makes me want to punch both of them...
Don't ask why...just that feeling.

It is creepy. I'm a woman and I wouldn't want my boyfriend to call my mom. That seems strange.
ya a boyfriend whos too close to your mom is uh weird. fat lonely women seem to always been the ones to make these sortve "guides" or "lists" or "facts". just best ignored.

I do *not* see how any of these are unreasonable. You expect your boyfriend/partner to do these things for you, and you do them for him in return. It's called a happy, functional relationship. Ok, ok, perhaps people's versions of what constitutes a good relationship are different, but in the end it'll all boil down to an equal balance of what each person likes. I do all of these things for my bf, and he does the same for me. OK, I might like to be the first to tell my mum that I got a promotion or whatever. But seriously, I'd rather have a boyfriend that was happy for me in my successes, than one who was always jealous of them. I've been there. It was not fun.

I'd like to know what qualifies Ruby Madren-Britton as a dating expert, besides the ability to come up with self-imposed titles like "Dating Editor." (That and the hyphenated last name are a dead giveaway that this woman is most likely full of shit.)

Pseudo-psychological bullshit like this should be taken with a grain of salt and looked at more as entertainment rather than well thought out journalism. I mean its on Yahoo for chrissakes, what more proof do you need?

You pretty much hit the nail on the head JK93, this woman doesn't have a clue what she's talking about and seems to be just spouting off as much stereotypical, idealized "advice" as she can to meet her deadline. That's the problem with "advice" columnists, they don't have to be accountable for the shit they write.

And to any woman looking for the guy that fits this article's mold, good luck with that. And if you actually do find him, yeah he's either a stalker or serial killer.

None of these things sound particularly unfair to me. Sure, the "call your mom about the promotion" thing is a bit creepy, but for the most part they're just common courtesies that everybody should extend to their significant other. As long as they're reciprocated of course.
