Now I'm no expert, but that seems unlikely. I don't think 92% of babies in the U.S. even have access to computers, and many more of them wouldn't have facebooks because their parents would be, you know, sane.

I'm calling zombie bullshit on that one. I'm guessing that 50% of American babies don't have parents that have a computer, let alone internet, let alone facebook, let alone 92%.
Computer usage in the US among the age groups now having children is near 100% with an estimated 94% of US households having a computer. It's normal to have a computer in the house here. Broadband internet penetration is over 90% with close to 70% of households having a broadband connection. Internet penetration is near 98% as well when other forms of access are considered (satellite) it's 100%.

Still this is apparently about an online presence, and not about facebook profiles. The OP is just silly and easily confused. Or a troll doing that on purpose.

Yeah... It's closer to 100%, with the most common reason for not having internet access cited as the person doesn't feel the need for access at home, at a whopping 72% of those without. The next most common is that they don't want to pay for it either because they don't see the value or they cannot afford it with 20%. Most of those without home access have access at another location and do not feel the need to have access at home as well.

If that is true (i still find it hard to believe), then this world has gone bonkers. And it might give pedophiles the tools for their crimes...

Tell me more.

Seriously, though, it's pathetic how people have become so narcissist that facebook has taken over their lives, and by extension they bring it upon their newborn babies. Besides, they can't even read until they're 4 or so.

OT: Who cares?
I kid. It totally weirds me out.
But more importantly... New PC PowerPlay! I knew there was something missing from my hand!
I was in the city at the hospital earlier this year and they had the issues 2 months in advance, 2 months before the cover date!!! Madness!
Us small towners are forgotten :(
I guess I should fork out for that subscription huh..
Guess what just made my Christmas list ;)

Babies scare me.

92%?

No way that number is far too high to have any logical or reasonable basis.

If you'd said 40% I might've believed it.

Still it's stupid for babies to have Facebook pages at all...

I do find this disturbing and a little sick to be honest.

I'm not sure how much credibility to give that statistic, is this all American children? What about those without internet access?. To me it seems pointless. But since everybody uses facebook these days its not surprising for parents to want to throw up a page about their precious little baby.
p.s. AWESOME avatar!!!!

I'm glad this month's PC Powerplay has come out. I had to check to see if the issue I had was #184 or not. Turns out it is, which means I need to go out and spend $8 really soon.
I totally did the same thing!
High five?

Edit
Mine are $13.95
Total downer dude, high five regretfully retracted

I loled, not offended at all, the whole point of my post was to bring attention
to fellow posters on how wrong statistics can be. My initial reply was gonna be "well after your post...make that 98%" which indeed I am kidding too, encase you declare "I r offend".

That statistic seems is inflated. But the fact that some people do give their babies Facebook pages is... depressing.
