I loled, not offended at all, the whole point of my post was to bring attention
to fellow posters on how wrong statistics can be. My initial reply was gonna be "well after your post...make that 98%" which indeed I am kidding too, encase you declare "I r offend".

I find that statistic to be bullshit. I've seen about 10 babies in my family being born in the past 6 years, but not even their parents use Facebook.

I have a suspicion that this is a case of "If you want a statistic, only poll the people who will give it to you..."

I love all the hate here aswell, it's utterly harmless, usually for the parents to mess around or put photos of their kid up. Man, you guys piss me off sometimes.

i agree with the source request, because that percentage looks spurious.

however, i don't agree that it's harmless. considering that over 50% (not sure what the actual percentage there is, but it's definitely *well* over 50%) of Facebook users are not tech savvy enough to properly secure their information (and soccer moms are going to make up a huge chunk of that tech-incompetent group), this means that most of these babies have their information out there for pedophiles and other creeps to access. so, yeah, definitely NOT harmless.

I agree with you on the security issue. Soccer-moms don't often secure anything unless the press screams "MURDER!!" "RAPE!!" "SEXUAL PREDATORS!!", and I'm not sure that you want them to wait for that to happen...

yea your probably right, most of my friends who have kids have set up a facebook account for them but 92% seems a bit high.
