Volgin.

It's never mentioned why he has those powers, but i think it was just a gimmick konami added at the last minute to make Volgin more unique/more of a challenge.

Electrode/Voltorb don't make any sense, electrodes aren't inherently positive. Or does the pokedex give their charges?

Muk was a joke. Silly escapist.
But some it was a bit of a stretch, yeah.

Like the venomoth one! Venonat or whatever isn't a caterpillar. But lets say it is, in which case it is a furry caterpillar therefore it becomes a moth. Smooth hairless caterpillars usually become butterflies. Unless I'm missing something here,is it the design of butterfree/venomoth? Eeeehhh that's a definite stretch.

And snakes don't grow into cobras. It doesn't have to make sense! They look alike!

In Pokemon Red/Blue version, when you meet your rival in Lavender Town (The town with the Pokemon Tower - where dead pokemon are buried), he asks you if you know what its like to lose a Pokemon. He doesn't have his Raticate with him. You killed it last time you battled.

That's one interpretation. The other is that his Raticate was a temporary pokemon who took up permanent residence in Bill's PC, and he was simply confused to see you in Lavender Tower. He was there to catch a cubone (and search for the rumored Marowak).

I'll go with the one that's less depressing.

Ive read the Pokemon manga and Red , as he's called, kills... actually KILLS (like cuts completly in half etc) quite a few pokemon...
