technically, not true. The ingame random number generator CAN be influenced by pressing buttons, altough you'd have to use tools to be able to press at the exact time it's possibly to influence anything.

The venomoth one makes no sense.

Here's some mind blowinglame facts.
Zero was supposed to stay dead but fan outcry brought him back to life for subsequent X games.
The X series was supposed to end after 5 or 6 (I don't remember exactly) which is when the Zero series starts, but Capcom went ahead and made more without the series creator's permission which has turned the series into a clusterfuck of shit. Then they ended it on a cliffhanger (assholes)
Dante's air dash in Devil May Cry 3 uses the exact same pose that X's does, whether this is a coincidence or not you decide.
It was supposed to end with X6, where Zero goes into cryo-sleep. However, in time the Megaman Zero series became cannon, which is awesome, because I just love that series...
I see a lot of moves reused by capcom :p See also Viewtifull Joe... Who even had Vergil as a boss characteer!
Im nearly positive there are other games capcom like to mix and match wee things with~

No facts about MissingNo? (Shrot for Missing Number)
You should really put one down about him about how you can catch him and it turns into a level 195 Kangaskan XD
Missingno = Pokemon Cthulu.

Also, as for cool pokemon name facts, I seem to recall Lugia being based on the latin word for "miserable little bastard" (paraphrasing, of course)

I found some more! http://www.cracked.com/article_18461_5-creepy-ways-video-games-are-trying-to-get-you-addicted.html More about the industry then anything else, but still interesting.

The only fact I myself know is, uh, nevermind.

Here's one for you: In Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, the blocks in the Goldenrod City Gym form the shape of a Clefairy.

To be honest, my favourite "fact" about Pokemon is the Ash Coma theory which absolutely blew my mind reading it, despite little knowledge about the Pokemon cartoon series. Sure, it's not a video-game fact about the Pokemon games, but I loved it.

Also, I will admit, I did expect to read interesting facts about games besides Pokemon. However, the things you've mentioned are pretty amazing in it's self.

Well, I do have one.
Way back when, I was staying over at a friends house, and we were discussing Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. My friend's dad came in and said that there was a gene in one of the human chromosomes named Sonic The Hedgehog. We started laughing, and asking if there was a gene named "Knuckles the Echidna" too. After seeing this thread, I remembered this fact and looked it up online, and it turns out it is actually true! It's on chromosome 7. Actually, not anymore, because scientists decided to get rid of the humorous names for genes. It was cool while it lasted, though.

I have a whole collection of interesting facts that are sure to exploding your brain or at least sizzle it a bit so read on.

First off the pokemon ones:

Easy Mode, everyone knows these ones.
Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres

Kangeskhan = Genghis Khan
Hitmonchan is named after Jackie Chan
Hitmonlee is named after Bruce Lee

.

Normal Mode. Most of you will know these.
Arbok | Kobra
Ekans | Snake
Girafarig | Girafarig
Muk | ???
Mareep is an anagram of Ampere (A unit of electric current)
Hoppip
Jumpluff
Skiploom.

Normal Evolution chain:
and

How it should be:
and

Wobbuffett look too much like Chuchus to pass off as a coincidence.

Hard Mode, many of you won't know these.
Electrode is a positive charge = Expression is positive.
Voltorb is a negative charge = Expression is negative.

Contrary to popular belief, pressing any buttons while catching a pokemon won't do anything! Next time try to resist pressing A+B+Down. For me it was pressing A as fast as I can.

Marill is the water counterpart to Pikachu.
Ledian looks like an Alien

Regions in Pokemon Can be overlayed on a map of Japan.
From bottom to top and left to right: Generation 3(Hoenn), Generation 2(Johto), Generation 1(Kanto), Generation 4(sinnoh)

In Pokemon Red/Blue version, when you meet your rival in Lavender Town (The town with the Pokemon Tower - where dead pokemon are buried), he asks you if you know what its like to lose a Pokemon. He doesn't have his Raticate with him. You killed it last time you battled.

Route 34 in Red/Blue Version is where the breeding Day Care Center is. Thirty-Four, breeding pokemon, do the math.

Mew is classified as the Evolution Pokemon in the pokedex. It looks cute and cuddly.
Arcaus is classified as the alpha pokemon (AKA God) and is scary looking.
The male character form Ruby/Sapphire Version doesn't have white hair. He's wearing a hat. Here is a better look ->

Lt. Surge, the Electric Gym leader, is American (fuck yea). Usually His Voltorb/Electrode knows SONIC BOOM!
japan always makes the americans some army fatigue wearing or cowboy d-bag.

Not exactly Zelda but close enough: In WoW there's an NPC called Linken and he kinda looks like Link. He sends you on a quest to get an item that sorta looks like a triforce (anyone care to back this up?)
This is true.

http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=8737

Also, these are awesome. Didn't know anything about the pokemon, Kum made me lol.

only the eyes make the venomoth/butterfree thing seem like the truth but then you have to think about everything else and realize just how stupid that conclusion is.

Oh my god, that GLaDOS one is beyond creepy. I can't unsee it now.
I think it's kinda awesome x3

OT: Weird ._. I feel dumb for not connecting the bird names now xD

I only have one interesting fact: the first thing Valve tested their jiggle physics on was Chell's hair.
