Have you ever thought about that one pokemon, Kangaskhan, how it always had its baby, but the baby never actually had it's own species or pre-evolution?

Here's what I think.
I beleive that all baby Kangaskhans are actually Cubones. The reason you don't see any Kangaskhan babies alone in the wild is because they are being nurtured in their mother's pouch. Many baby Pokemon evolve with friendship and attention, (Such as Pichu, Togepi, Magby, Elekid, etc), so it follows that in order for a Kangaskhan's baby Cubone to actually evolve into a Kangaskhan, it needs love and attention from its mother.

However, as it says in Cubone's Pokedex, it is a lonely Pokemon that became solitary after the loss of its mother. It also wears it's mother's skull. So in the event that the mother Kangaskhan were to die, the Pokemon would be forced to live on its own, as a Cubone.

It is also worth noting that Nintendo may have intended Cubone to involve into Kangaskhan at some point, but scrapped the idea, due to the fact that there was no way to really establish a "friendship" type evolution in the original Red and Blue Pokemon. Instead of wasting time removing the incomplete code from the game, the incomplete Pokemon was shifted into a Pokemon address with a value that wasn't assigned an in-game Pokedex number. This garbage Pokemon was Missingno, also known as (m). Anyone who has ever captured a Missingno, (Which you shouldn't, it can mess up your game) would know that, upon leveling up, Missingno will evolve into Kangaskhan.

Anyway, what do you think? I'd say it makes sense.

(I didn't come up with this btw, I copy and pasted it)
But there you go, a pretty solid theory on kangaskhan and Missingno.

Hmmmm, Muk spelled backwards
Or Luna Park, the famous themepark in Sydney (it's actually terrible).

An interesting titbit of information not related to computer games but still worthy of nerdy reference - the God of Gods, Ao, in Forgotten Realms. Note his name and the similarity between Alpha/Omega.

Knew the one about Rick Astley and Mario/Doki Doki Panic, as well as most of the voice actors.

But wow, the thing about GlaDOS is mind-blowing! And creepy as F*CK

Man, some of those Pokemon ones were brilliant. Butterfree and Venomoth always did seems slightly out of place!

Another Pokemon name fact:

MUD-kip
MARSH-tomp
SWAMP-art

The terrain descriptions get bigger each time.

It sort of works with Treecko
TREE-cko
GROVE-yle
Then Sceptile doesn't work, to my knowledge.

Also: Silent Hill 2's characters were named from people in history.
Here's a quote from wikipedia

"Silent Hill 2 also incorporates some references to real life events. The creators have said that the name "Mary" came from Mary Ann Nichols and Mary Jane Kelly, Jack the Ripper's first and last victims respectively. Other observers have claimed that Maria's outfit was copied from Christina Aguilera's appearance at the 1999 Teen Choice Awards. Eddie Dombrowski's name was taken from actor Eddie Murphy back during the beginning phases of production when Eddie was originally designed with a pleasantly optimistic personality. The name of Angela Orosco was derived from Angela Bennett, the protagonist of the film The Net, and Laura's from the novel No Language But a Cry by Richard D'Ambrosio. There are also indications that the layout of Silent Hill has been based on the town of San Bruno, California, to a certain extent."

Something like this?(Only read threw first page so some of the things may be already posted);

Sonic The Hedgehog isn't only the name of Sega's speedy mascot, but also a gene on chromosome 7 of the human genome.

In the early stages of its development, Half-Life 2 featured a friendly alien that would follow Gordon Freeman around, feasting on the bodies of his fallen enemies. It was taken out when Valve discovered that the AI would be too difficult to convincingly program.

The Little Sisters from BioShock didn't start their life as little girls at all, but rather tiny mole-like creatures who scuttled around Rapture collecting Adam. Early concept art also shows them as retro '50s-style robots, too

Edit;
Final Fantasy VII was originally designed for the Nintendo 64, but Square cancelled the project and moved to the PSone because of the lack of space in the console's game cartridges. FFVII would've filled 13 cartridges.

Final Fantasy got its name from the fact that it was supposed to be Square's last ever game.

Super Mario World for the SNES took 29,000 hours to program

In the first Fallout, if you create your own character with less than 4 intelligence you can't converse with anyone; your only dialogue options are various grunts or other guttural noises.

If you select a sheep four times in Warcraft 2: Tides Of Darkness (keep clicking it with the left mouse button), the sheep will say ?bo-ram-u?. This is the sheeps? password from the 1995 movie Babe.

To be honest, my favourite "fact" about Pokemon is the Ash Coma theory which absolutely blew my mind reading it, despite little knowledge about the Pokemon cartoon series. Sure, it's not a video-game fact about the Pokemon games, but I loved it.

Also, I will admit, I did expect to read interesting facts about games besides Pokemon. However, the things you've mentioned are pretty amazing in it's self.

I found out about the Raticate thing a while back from this very copypasta:
In the original Pokémon Red/Blue, when you encounter your rival in Lavender Town he asks whether or not you know what it?s like to have one of your Pokémon die. At this point in the game, he no longer has his Raticate that he used in previous battles. Your rival battle before this took place aboard the S.S. Anne. Your rival?s Raticate sustained serious injuries from the battle? but, because crowding and confusion on the luxury liner, he was unable to make it to a Pokémon Center in time and the Raticate passed away.

The real reason your rival is in Lavender Town to begin with is to lay his deceased friend to rest. Despite all of this, your rival never outwardly tells you that you?re responsible for the death of his Pokémon. He hides his grief and instead channels that energy into the motivation he needed to continue his quest to become Indigo League Champion.

The death of his Raticate effectively destroys your rival?s impish, childhood innocence. Although he tells himself that he doesn?t hold you responsible, he subconsciously holds a great deal of resentment towards you which further fuels his ambitions. Tearfully swearing upon his Raticate?s grave to not fail in what he set out to do, he trains hard in hopes of becoming better than you? defeating you? and to eventually make it to the Pokémon League.

Mere moments after he became Indigo League champion, he was defeated? by you. Although he fulfilled his promise to his fallen Pokémon, it was only for a painfully brief instant. In the end, your rival is scolded by his grandfather while you receive the professor?s praise.

During the course of the game, you steal your rival?s innocence, crush his dreams, and ultimately snatch away the love of his own grandfather. Oh, and by the way, your rival doesn?t have any parents.

He?s an orphan.
How'd you feel now, Escapists?

Wow I thought I would probabely know all of them but I only new about half of them and also pressing a button in pokemon does have an effect just not always a good one, and not a very drastic change either.
Also what is that red town under and to the left of the sinnoh region in the map?
