Umm... Norse mythology?

Viking: Battle for asgard. In some ways too human and age of empire: age of mythology.

How about 1066 AD in England? A fairly awesome story.

Or the battle of Agincourt. If it was based on the Bernard Cornwell book that would be even more awesome.

EDIT:

I've never seen a game set in India. India would be mad for a game location. What it'd be about, I have no idea. But India would be cool.
It could be based off the Richard Sharpe series!

There you go, a game based on the year 1066 in England.

um well... I just made a thread about a game that would be pretty original...

But there hasn't been any games set inside a CD case that I am aware of...

Well, you would be hard pressed to find a setting that hasn't been done at all. That said, there are a few historical periods that I think have never been covered (although I could be wrong):

- the era of early civilisations in Mesopotamia and India
- pre-Columbus Americas
- very early Middle Ages (like the immediate period after the fall of the Roman empire)
- colonisation of Russia
- Post-Meiji Restoration Japan
- most of the Interbellum period (Period between WWI and WWII); anything between 1918-1936 is absent

That is about as much as I can remember. I will mention if I think of any more

How about the inside of a body?

Like you travel through bloodstreams and battle in the Stomach.

That or Neptune.
This has already been done in bowsers inside story. and as for neptune I feel like it has been used before but I do not have an example.

OT A brand new universe with different rules and unchained beauty and adventure(DUH!).

A true utopia. No crime, no conflict.
Exactly, but the only problem with that is that it would create problems. What plot would it have? What could you do?

As for Neptune, there's Lenny in Space.

Flash game from 2003, where every level is on a different planet. And Pluto.

Inside the human body. Intestines and all that.

Edit: Cambrian Period.
Well, there was Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, where Mario and Luigi were inside Bowser's body. There's also the Trauma Center games (techinically you're inside the body), and Microcosm, to name a couple.

I know there are biblical games, but are there any where you play as Jesus? I don't think I've seen one of those before...

A kids box of old unused legos, it would be like a post-apocoliptic world filled with scattered legos

Probably child soldiers, something tells me that that is where the next Modern Warfare game is heading.
Child soldiers was done in Clive Barker's Jericho.

i think prehistoric times haven't been covered alot, and if they have they have been awful.

how about playing as a dinosaur, and earlier mammal like reptile, or after the dinosaurs, but before modern man? having them 3 choices, then playing out the lifestyle of an animal you choose, having conflict and survivability all rolled into one game...i'd play it ^_^

Velociraptor here i come!

Also id like a GOOD Medabot game =)
I think you can say semi-sincerely Terodactyl Land in Banjo Tooie, which I enjoyed.
Also, Barmitsvas?
I hope I didnt btcher that word...

edit: DOH wrong thing let me think in a french war there we go
