I can't play Bioshock. I got about 10 hours in and just stopped. Tired gameplay with a tired plot.

silent hill 2. idk i just find it boring. plus the VA's are shit and ruin the experience. in fact thats prolly it. also maybe just all the hype made my expectations too high? but maybe it deserves a second chance?
Don't give in. It does not deserve a second chance. It only gets worse the more you play.

Brink. It was completely overrated and overhyped. It sucked compared to Duke Nukem Forever! That's how terrible it was, IMO.

Borderlands. My mate made me play it and the vehicle controls were the worst I have ever used, the normal controls were crap, it looked like shit and was just so boring.

All sports titles (why do people still buy these every year?)
and FF13... I couldn't do it, played for like twenty mins and just couldn't get into it.
Tried round a friends later on in the game (people say after a while it gets better) and I still couldn't force myself to play it.

Yeah... but it's BABIES!
That's territory that anyone fears to tread.
Besides, i just don't feel like i want to play it.
It's only my opinion.
You do realize that those "babies" are already dead, no? You can't murder/kill something that is already dead, now (also, they have wolverine finger claws - no way in hell (ahem) am I letting them near me).

OT: Modern Warfare 2, plot and gameplay jumps around at so many points in that game, I just lost track and stopped caring..

Fallout 1. I bought it thinking, "Yay! Now I'll know the entire history!", completely aware of the gameplay differences between it and the more recent Fallouts, but I just don't enjoy it.

Grand Theft Auto IV:

The story set up Niko as a "man who was trying to escape his ugly past, but tragically his past will follow him" type of character, but this was at-odds with GTA's ridiculous gameplay.

As soon as ran over some pedestrians and solicited a "lady of the evening," only to be beat her up and get my money back afterward, I lost ALL ability to sympathize with Niko as a character. A person who can do that sort of stuff is a sociopath, and why should I care whether or not the sociopath goes on a friendly date with a girl or goes out to eat with his cousin?

Modern Warfare 2:

For the same, yet opposite reasons as GTAIV. GTAIV mashed up ridiculous over-the-top gameplay with a realistic, gritty, story, whereas MW2 mashed up a ridiculous over-the-top story with realistic gameplay.

So... In the game, one bullet or a fall from a decent height will kill me, just like in real life, but in the cutscenes two guys can ramp a snowmobile over a 60 foot glacial gap without hurting the snowmobile or themselves? Whuh?!

= = =

There is such a thing as "cohesion," and both of these games fly in the face it with reckless abandon.

You know its like demon babies with claws right?

OT: Any final fantasy game

RDR for some weird reason. I go at it in bursts, finishing large sections, spending some time just messing around in the wilderness and it's really great and fun and then...just...dull. I get bored and wander off.

Oblivion for the same reason as someone else mentioned, done it so much now I just...can't enjoy it. Part of that is down to the levelling and the blank NPC's. It's okay when the world is fascinating and new but after a bit you need a little more and while I like planning perfect characters Oblivion forces me to do it and takes it too far. I don't like reaching a high level being punishable by ridiculously powerful enemies shutting me out of damn near every area, especially since most turn into sponges for damage (something Bethsoft has a real problem with but have begun to fix with NV and purportedly Skyrim).

Other than that, Damnation like I said in the other thread, just a horrible game. So horrible.
Oh and sports games tend to bore me but I don't mind a kick around on FIFA with some mates, I'd rather actually go out and do it though.

Any real sports game - why the fuck would I use my expensive computer to simulate something I can simply DO. I play games to experience things I can't in my normal life, sports games are simply... pointless? Yes, that's the word.

And for some reason I never got into any of Rockstar's sandboxes (GTA). I would always install the game, run over people for like ten minutes, get bored, go do some story missions, get bored even more, then uninstall. Now I simply avoid them.

I've got two here that'll probably get me flamed...

1. Mass Effect 1 (yeah crucify me, I'm a heretic), I feel as if I'm missing out on something really huge now, but the gameplay of this game was so...urgh. It felt bland and un-engaging, having to switch back and forth between the game and the different menus really broke up the flow of the game. When I first arrived at The Citadel and realized that I would be going back and forth all over the place in search of countless quests and shops, I turned off the game and haven't touched it since :(

2. Bioshock, I'll admit, the story and setting really want to make me play this game, as with Mass Effect, but the combat feels like a sub-Half-Life mess to me. It feels really slow and dull as well as always running out of EVE and ammo at the wrong times. The constantly re spawning enemies didn't help either.

I also cant stomach horror games, I just want to eject the disk and uninstall the game out of fear...

1. Sports Games.

2. Dragon Age 2 - I beat it once, and I thought it was terrible as all hell. Despite the DLC looking interesting to me I won't get it just because of the game itself. I'm not going to support them anymore than I have to. Mass Effect 3, DO WANT.

3. World of Warcraft/Most other MMOs on the market. Difference in graphics, and story are the only changes any MMO is bringing to the market right now. I want new mechanics. I went back and tried to play WoW and just could not bring myself to do it. I'd log on for about ten minutes, wait in a dungeon que, didn't care and logged. Haven't been back online since that point.

I can't play Red Dead Redemption or inFamous, both for the same reason: Their control schemes are off from what I'm used to and I couldn't play them to save my life.

Red Dead Redemption.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, with a brilliant story.
I just can't play it.

I find it so boring and dry, yet I'm not entirely sure why I feel that way towards it. Even Undead Nightmare I found to be an effort to play. And it has zombies in it!!
Thank you! I felt exactly the same way! I tried to play it and got into Mexico but I couldn't play for very long stretches as my attention would start to wane. There was just too much uninteresting stuff in between missions and I didn't really care about basically any of the characters. Sometimes I still feel like I should finish it and contemplate renting it sometime, but I haven't yet.
Oh thank (insert deity here) I hear so many people talk about how awesome this game is. I found it slow boring and depressing and whenever I did start to like a character they went away. I was starting to feel so alone. I feel better now lol

Bioshock and most other horror games.
I realize it's one of the best games of the decade, but I just can't do it. I'm too skittish. :(

Borderlands. I borrowed it from a friend once, got to about level 5 with a sniper, and thought, "Man, this sucks. Maybe I'm just playing the wrong class." I then reached level 5 with every other class, and just couldn't get interested. I've heard it gets better later, or that playing co-op is more fun, but I just can't be bothered to try it again.
Yeah, I can't play this without a friend, it's just so dull on your lonesome. But with mates, so much fun.
Another one would be Arkham Asylum. Yes I played it through and enjoyed it, but I just can't bring myself to replay it, I find it .. meh.

Agreed. If there was a novel/comic, I'd gladly read that, but playing the game just feels like a chore for me. I might give it another try now that I know what to expect.
