Seems like it's taking a similar angle to Mirrors Edge. Though on that you're encouraged not to kill anyone, it just makes it easier if you do

inFamous. It'd be hard as hell not to, but there's no one you have to kill, only take them down non-lethally.
Well, Kessler doesn't really die at the end, he just kind of vanishes. I guess it'll be explained in inFamous 2.

Every time I play Thief, no one dies, but they all have nice headaches. And I mean EVERYONE.

Almost anyone. You have to kill Anna Navarre, because it's the only way to get a key off of her. (Since she's a mech she's immune to knockouts)

Portal. Isn't that one obvious?
:O you're forgetting the companion cube!

Oh sweet companion cube, I thought our love would last forever :'(
Don't remind me of my pain.

Oh my companion cube! How I miss you!!! :( :(
Maybe it's just me but I only ever saw the cube as a cube. I don't get why people get so emotionally invested in it. I've read people saying that it was one of the hardest videogame experiences emotionally. For me I found it funny more than anything, it's just a box to me.

Ummm, correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you go through pretty much all the MGS games without killing any of the normal enemies? You know, just using stealth and tranquiliser darts to get past guards.
This. In fact, I'm pretty sure the games even indirectly encouraged this. The "Big Boss" rank in MGS4 could only even be achieved by not killing anyone, amirite? (along with other things, ofcourse)

Yes. Yes you can.
No, you have to kill 3 people.

Well, if you exploit bugs, only one person, but the other two count as dead, and the game still acts like you killed them.

OT: I was gonna suggest Deus Ex as well, and the Metal Gear rising is looking more and more interesting.
who do you have to kill? i always thought you had to kill Anna untill I found out you can blow up the door

I think itd be absolutely hilarious to see someone try to do a pacifist run in bioshock.^_^ (Although its technically mandatory to kill at least 4 people, and whoever attacks a little sister in that escort bit.)

I actually never tried a pacifist run in any game. I never really have the patience. Id knock out/sneak past/ignore a few then theres one that annoys me and I cant resist the urge, then it just goes downhill from there.

Phoenix wright attoney at law series. you don't kill anyone. You a deffence attoney that solves murder cases, thefts etc. The other charaters kill everyone else.

Trauma: You actually try to save people from dying and stop a bio threat from happening in the first one The second one is more of the same.

Pokemon: Ironically out of all the pokemon game fighting pokemon and people you face the pokemon or person seem to faint and the player either blacks out or whites out and goes back into town considering the fact that a pokemon manage to severly set them on fire, burn them or crushed them half to death. You only hear about team rocket killing a Mother Mawowack in Pokemon Red/Blue and geneality alter Mewto.

Portal. Anyone who says different obviously didn't pay attention to the end credits. And don't even mention that stupid companion cube. I hate that fucking thing. Or least, I hate that anyone gave a shit about it.

Also, Batman: Arkham Asylum. Everybody's just "unconscious".

Since when? I just watched the ending cutscene to make sure. Cole says, and I quote, "Kessler fell back, dead." And he doesn't vanish. He just lies there, being dead. I'm not sure we played the same game.
