OP never specified the speed, direction, size, nor make-up of said meteor. It could simply skid the side of Earth or land in the ocean.

Or I would go to the exact spot that the meteor was headed to and just before impact swing my fist at it. To go out as the first human to punch a meteor would be super bad-ass.
