Haikus are comprised of three lines with a specific number of syllables. This is done in the pattern of 5-7-5, meaning that five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five again in the third. Other than that, there are no rules. No rhyming necessary, no iambic pentameter, no rhythm, and any subject is open to write about. Example below the spoiler.

Five syllables here,
But seven go in this line.
And five again here.

Normally they're poems of three lines and a set number of syllables, 17 total, traditionally arranged 5-7-5. Bonus points for referencing seasons in some way. Seasons of the year mind you, not salt & pepper.
