Ra'ive nodded slowly, yes, this Landon was a man of conviction, just the kind of man most dangerous to the Guild. He stood and joined Landon in gazing at the stars.

"I too have lost....People, to the Guild. I shall aid you Landon, the three of us shall destroy the Guild"

He smiled and his eyes lit up, for the first time in a half century he felt hope, finally he would have revenge. His giddiness was short-lived however for when it had passed, the queasiness overcame him once more.

Landon looked over to Ra'ive with the same faint smile.

"I am sorry to hear that. Yes, we will find those bastards that robbed us of our people. May we find them and their deaths be enough to satisfy our quest for revenge."

Landon chuckled when he saw Ra'ive get nauseated and walked over to him. "Perhaps it would be good to get back inside before you accidentally fall over the railing." He gave Ra'ive a smile, a stronger smile then the one he had a moment ago.

Ra'ive turned to look Landon dead in the eye, jokingly, yet with a tinge of seriousness. He wasn't about to be coddled by some stranger!

"Listen, I may be sick but I can still... Ugh, let us return inside"

With that Ra'ive retreated back downstairs to their cabin, where he hopped up onto the spare top bunk and lay there, massaging his temples, as best as he could with his mask present.

'I shouldn't feel this ill, perhaps its the lack of Rock?'

And as if to answer his unspoken question, his nose began to bleed.

'Curses!'

Landon followed Ra'ive and gave the others a smile as he entered the cabin. He was worried a little about Ra'ive, but he didn't seem too ill. He'd be ready to help if he could. He stood by the door, leaning on the wall with his arms folded over his chest.

To have met such great allies is truly something I appreciate. Closer to my goal, Father...

Just over a dozen hours had passed and dawn has breached the sky, with the crew on full alert but the group downstairs in their fast sleep.
Maybe it was the sea air or just the rocking of the ship, but everyone remained asleep for longer than expected.

"Get ready! Go! Now!"
Enalia screamed as whizzing of large objects came running through the air followed by extremely loud splashes.
"Arm the cannons! Make ready! FIRE ALL CANNONS!!"
Enalia screamed, with another manly voice followed up.
"FIRE ALL!!"

The screaming of the cannon was heard and with over a dozen of loud thuds and bangs followed by the cracking of wood and falling of timber, all cannon fire stopped.

From within the room down the corridor could be heard faint yells, battle cries even and it sounded like a fight between man and metal with all the clinging of steel and wood.

Enalia's voice once again could be heard, a little breathless but not as excited nor loud.
"Gather your men, I want that ship searched before Gyia claims it into her abyss!"

Ra'ive, despite his imbalance and sickness, vaulted from the bunk and had his claws out and readied before his eyes unblurred.

'Years of paranoia paying off'

Thankfully the adrenaline had managed to depress the symptoms of BlackRock withdrawal and added sea-sickness, that had been tortuously present when he had been attempting to sleep. Now he felt nothing but the tingle of being battle-ready.

He stood in a ready pose for a time, expecting some prisoner or mutinous sailor to burst through the door. He relaxed slightly when he surmised that they were safe on their current location, however he was not sure for how long.

"Get up and get ready!" he yelled at his companions, urging them to stir. He doubted they'd still be asleep, he just wanted to alert them to the urgency that was present.

Evela woke up suddenly as Ra'ive yelled at them all. He awoke quickly, and with suprise, having a small spazm attack on his bed, he sat up and asked, "Whats the Pro-" before his words were shut off by the sound of a cannon blast.

The monk half-rolled half-jumped from his top bunk, not looking to gracefull while acomplishig his task. He ran over to where he put his small amount of things, grabbing the matches. "Dammit, I cant use Magic on a boat, It'll catch on fire!" he yelled out, to nobody in particular, "It can be usefull to sink the boat attacking us though."

Vik'nar woke to the sounds of fighting, everyone else was either up or being stirred awake by Rai've.

I really hope this isn't what I think this is. If our captain has stopped to do a little pirating, there will be Gaudan to pay.

Once everyone was gathered and prepared, he ventured out onto the deck. Signs of fighting were evident and the Grim Lass was currently moored to a ship that looked to be sinking as they spoke.

"Captain or boatmaster, what exactly happened here?"

Ellondra tumbled out of her bunk, body awake and moving more quickly than her brain, which was struggling to build up the momentum to reason with the sudden departure from quite a comfortable sleep.

"Blast it, I know this isn't a leisure cruise, but there are certain standards to maint--"

Her words fell short when she saw the state of the deck. She was most certainly awake now.

With Enalia barking out orders and preparing to board the ship to salvage all means neccessary, Evy walked up to Vik'nar as he posed his question.

"We were attacked by a pirate ship sir! Everything is under control. The threat has been neutralized. I would advice you to steer clear of the deck"
He finished, pointing to the door.
We will alarm you when it's safe.

--

The colors of the ship across were unknown, for there was no mast to hang them on.
Splintered wood and the stock of the mast was evident enough to see it had been blown off and sent into the sea a while ago.

The crew on the other ship were mostly dead, the others who weren't were either grasping swords in feeble hands or swimming for their lives already.

Vik'nar stood off to the side out of the way. He wasn't quite convinced they were the ones who were attacked first, but he hadn't been awake to hear which broadside fired first.

Evela heard Evy's explanation of the events occuring, he trusted him to be telling the truth. He took his advice and walked back into the room with everyone else, explaining their current situation to the ones who did not hear.

"Evy says we are under attack. But that they have it under control, so he suggested we just wait." He said to the group as he clambered arkwardly up to his top bunk, his robes almost tripping him up each step he took.

Acento didn't like this

He didn't like that he had to wait while they was a fight outside and he didn;t like the fact that they had been asked to stay inside, why wouldn't they use a group picked by the king to help in a fight?

"Getting us all excited for nothing, shame on you!"

Since there was no battle to intervene in and no reason for the adrenalin in his system to hang around, Ra'ive, almost instantly after speaking became overwhelmed by the combination of sea-sickness and BlackRock withdrawal.

He stumbled and grabbed hold of a nearby rope for support, he stood there for a time, barley supporting his own weight before he gathered enough strength to attempt a return to the cabin.

The descent was slow and he most likely looked like he had hit the bottle, for he was stumbling and tripping the entire way back. After what felt like an age he made it back inside the cabin, kicked off his boots and collapsed onto his bed.

Since no-one ahs posted for awhile I thought I'd 'drama it up abit'. Long like AKF

Let's just hope we never have to fight at sea. Vik'nar thought while observing Rai've disappear below deck and continuing to observe Enalia's men.

The crew ran to the other ship with raised arms and Enalia followed with a slow and steady walk. She looked to her sides once she boarded; taking in the enviorment of the ship.
"Gather up the wounded and bring them to me!"
She called out to her men as they pillaged the ship of wounded men and precious goods.

Evy, the Drow boatsman made his way to the ship with four men of his own and went straight for the brig to see if anyone was locked up.
He had his weaponry raised and at the ready, but there was no resistance, nor anyone in the cells.

"Brig is clear cap'n!"
He called from the stairs to Enalia.
She nodded and Evy went back downstairs to salvage what goods were there to salvage.

Enalia turned around and saw Vik'nar standing there.
"The danger is passed, but the ship is sinking faster than expected. We could use your help transporting the merchantice"

"Sure, I'm assuming then that the King has given you Letter of Marque?" As he stepped over to the other ship up to the captain.

Jav3lin, I'm making the assumption that if there are pirates then there are also privateers. A Letter of Marque and Reprisal was that authorized a ship and crew to make legal acts of piracy under specific conditions.

So essentially he's asking her if she's legally entitled to seize cargo.

Enalia smiled at Vik'nar and pointed with her sword over to her ship.
"Yes, I have them in my quarter. Now would you please gather your forces and help me before Gyia claims this damned boat?"

She was getting frustrated by this lack of discipline toward her orders, but she sustained herself, knowing that this was not a person working under her, but above her in status.

Vik'nar returned the half hearted smile. It was obvious the captain was not the loving, nurturing and motherly sort, and she'd long grown accustomed to having her orders followed.

He motioned for the rest to assist in the pillage if they wished. Stepping down into the dark hold gave him pause to let his eyes adjust to the dark. Crates and barrel were strewn about with no inherent sense of organization. Enalia's crew was simply grabbing the first available item and tossing it up along a line of men leading back to their ship.

Vik'nar decided to poke about and look for something of interests instead. He found a worthy prize after a few minutes of sifting through the cargo, a barrel of freshly packed ginger root. He carried the barrel over to the deck of the Grim Lass before returning for more, it was a race against the sea to unload as much of the cargo before she sank. They were loosing, but Vik'nar had an idea. He went up to the bow of the sinking ship where a pair of giant iron anchors were chained. Loosing the two those could buy them maybe a few more minutes.

"Can you give me a hand over here?"

He called out to Acento, Ellondra or Evela. The anchors were chain for most of their length, but the last of its connecting length was thick rope - allowing for just what Vik'nar was intending a quick release of the anchors.

"Cut through that rope please." Point to the rope on the opposite side of the central winch, he started to saw away at his rope.

Landon came to Vik'nar and started cutting the rope with his sword. He managed to cut through it after a few attempts and then turned to Vik'nar.

"Need any more help?" Landon asked him.
