Thirteen-year-olds purchasing their own underwear? WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?
I'm sixteen and my parents still buy my...

Ahem. Ignore that remark.

Although it's probably not the best place for a young'un to be buying Spiderman Underoos, it's nothing to get up in arms about. I saw a guy buying his seven year old son Gears of War 2 yesterday. THAT is problematic; not an adolescent shopping at a lingerie store.

Now, if they sold pornography, sex toys and things like that, I'd be a little more worried.
Hell, sometimes I ask my mom to buy my bras, since they only like to sell them in "Yeah, we're pretty expensive. That's what you get for having big knockers" prices. Kicking out $35+ for ONE bra. Ugh. Insanity. And if she's 13, I would imagine her parents are paying for it, since y'know you can't have a legal job at 13. Plus, even if she did, she'd hafta save up her allowance money to get anything from VS Pink collection, let alone their underwear.

-scoffs- Men. /feminist moment
In japan the legal age of consent is 13.

(If you get what I am implying, well you are a sick-depraved person. But that is not a bad thing. ;))

EDIT: I know its not japan. But my counter-statement still stands that she could have a job..
The age of consent in the States is around 16. And you can't get your working papers to work legally is 16. Unless she is getting allowance and actually saving up her money, she doesn't have a legal job. Plus, buying anything that would be considered "explicit" or "tasteless" out of VS or many other lingerie shop, get ready to kick out some money. Unless she was eying that garter belt for $150 for awhile...

My fucking gods people, don't you ever read what other people post?!

Four pages in and people are still going on about how little girls shouldn't be buying slutty underwear, when we have already established ON PAGE 1 how much of what Victoria Secret sells isn't even slutty, just higher quality. And ALSO established that much of what they sell ISN'T EVEN UNDERWEAR. We've FURTHERMORE confirmed that the OP does not know she actually bought anything whorish, as nobody accosted the girl to search her bags.

Am I the only one getting sick and tired of rational posts explaining things being completely ignored by people who come in, read the OP, and spout their two-cents without ever seeing where the conversation went?

We don't know if this girl was buying a thong or granny-panties. We don't know she was even BUYING panties, it could have been PJs. Whatever she was buying, you don't even know if it was for herself, could be her mother's birthday. Holy shit, MOTHER'S DAY is coming up, wouldn't buy mom anything from a woman's store would we... Fuck, if we're going to assume the worst of everyone I shudder to think what people believe I buy when I shop at Crabtree & Evelyn (a very girly shop). You know what I buy there, huh? A sleep mask. Nothing naughty, nothing girly. A sleep mask, because C&E sell one that is lavender filled so it knocks you right out at night. From the sound of things here, I'd bet if any of you heard someone like me was in C&E, you'd assume he was in there for a lace teddy and a garter belt.
With your keen-eye ks you should have seen it. This thread is fun.

Victoria's Secret sells things other than naughty unmentionables, so I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Hell, I buy my cologne there...and before you judge, ask your gf, wife, or other friend that's a lady if she enjoys the cologne called "Very Sexy for Men." I can assure you that she'll say that she loves it!
Google'd it.

No wonder women find it sexy, it is practically what they lather their bodies with for you.

Back in high school, I remember seeing girls my own age wearing thongs for the whole world to see... so, I'll admit, my own generation is pretty slutty. Not just the modern kids. :(

Don't feel bad. They still do that. Just younger.

Bah! This is not an outrage! This. Is. EVIL! Or something along those lines.

Oh right the topic. I think that VS should have an age limit or something.....I think that children shouldn't be exposed to j-strings and such.
I have spoken.

EDIT: After reviewing the original post in this group, I've realised I misread your post abit. Guns do form the bulk of gaming at the moment, but I do stand by the fact that GTA and Saints Row aren't about shooting hookers.
I can't really comment on those 2 games anyway because I have never played them. Of the thousands of games I have played, though, an overwhelming majority of them have at least some of this type of content. This was the gist of my comment. I apologize if it sounded otherwise.

I feel that situation you described could be easily misinterpreted. All you know is that she was holding a Victoria Secret bag. I don't think that's grounds to immediately jump to any sort of conclusion. Besides you have no idea what's in the bag.

No worries, pretty easy to post something in an angry flash and regret it later ;) Lord knows I do it often enough, heh.

But yeah, guns or women dressed as whores (I'm looking at you Dead or Alive Valleyball and ilk). Although it does seem rare to have whores with guns.

In fact, I propose a new game! Whore Patrol: Ladies of Negotiatible Virtue looking for Justice! Make it very satirical about the media, society at large, etc. Of course, someone, somewhere will assume its serious and demand it banned *sighs*

It's better than living in the Middle-East where girls aren't allowed to show any skin!
True. And even there, they apparently have self-appearance issues, my friend from Pakistan told me. i.e. they want make up and all even though they won't be seen, heh.

I JUST had a rant about little kids on another thread so some of you are saved. But I agree totally, I see LOADS of girls in year 9 and below (14 and under) with La Senza bags and similar aged boys with Gears of War merchandise.

And we wonder why so many kids these days are considered to be hyperactive?
First, what's wrong with Gears of War? Because it's violent? Second, who are you all to comment on another person's interests? And Third, children ARE hyper. It's a fact throughout time. Just because parent's are too disinterested to deal with it doesn't mean it's a new thing. As an additional point to that, how does purchasing VS clothing and playing Gears make kids hyper? I'm not really seeing the relation. Are you hyper because you bought groceries the other day? Are you hyper because you played a videogame?

And, even if there is correlation between the perceived "new" hyperactivity of children and the clothing they wear/games they play, that does not imply causation. In the early days of New England colonization there was a strong correlation between the number of Presbyterian ministers and alcohol imports. Does this mean the ministers drank more or encouraged drinking? No. Confounding variables. Correlation =/= Causation (One of the greatest lines ever, learn it well).

hey I shopped at Victoria's secret and Fredrick's and such when I was 13....but then again by 13 I was a high C, low D depending on the brand of undies, and most " average" department stores carried A) the cup size I needed but designed for " large" women. b) were made like crap so my boobs looked...awkward...for lack of a better term.

V.S's actually carries alot of average, day wear style undies, and clothes, lotions, socks, bath oils etc etc etc... not just sleek and sexy things for " romantic" events
