This is something we'll all have to come to terms w/ I think.
I've come to terms with it... I believe that as long as I don't have daughters myself, I will remain quite pleased with the situation.
Quite pleased w/ little girls (under 16 or so) dressing skimpily? Not something I particularly care whether I have daughters or not.

I feel like I'm at one of those PTA meeting where all those angry mother spew out "stupid" and make people sign petitions about what they're angry about.

How people raise their daughters is their problem. If they don't mind them going out their house looking like Trampzilla, then why ***** about it? Apparently, unwanted attention is better than no attention these days. If she gets pulled into an alley and gets assaulted, y'know what, gg on you.

If you don't want to be looked on as a hooker, then give them their costumes back, bitches.

lol, i've read this whole thread, and i think its funny as well as a bit ironic that the people who are all "ITS JUST A DAMN CLOTHING STORE NOT A BIG DEAL BLAHBLAH", thinks bratz is a problem on the other hand. well, just like VS isn't "that bad", bratz promotes good as well.

Interracial friends and acceptance, having girl friends and doing things girls do, as well as putting friends first and long friends ships. I don't see barbie doing that, all i see barbie doing is "omg ken where are you!? LETS GO TO OUR BEACH HOUSE!". idealisms.
I'd just like to point out that Barbie is a positive role model, although her appearance is unrealistic. Bratz spend all their time seemingly going out to clubs and wearing slutty outfits. Yes they have their friendship, but so what? Going out with lots of lipstick and eyeshadow to another party is a positive image? Barbie has always been a strong independant woman, being among other things, a vet and the president. She officially divorced Ken, and is usually shown in a combination of having fun, and being a successful woman. And she does has friends, they just don't cling to each other all the time.

Victoria's Secret doesn't just sell underwear anyway, and it's certainly no worse than the things you can find in a regular clothing store. It's not like it was an Ann Summers bag.

This happened to me a few weeks ago...

I, being the person I am, was in a GameStop just browsing. While I'm looking at a game, I hear a small voice ask an employee, "Do you have the Bratz game?" I turn around and see a small girl. I have two younger sisters and judged her to be around twelve to thirteen years old. Her parents were not with her, she was alone. Granted, that's not too strange, but was strange was what she was holding. She had two large shopping bags, one in each hand, both full. One read "GAP", the other, "Victoria's Secret".

What kind of world are we living in when little girls are going to Victoria's Secret? Moreover, "Bratz" are just mini skanks (I could use more choice language, but will not out of fear of moderation). They wear copious amounts of makeup, revealing clothing, always have to be on top of fashion, and are marketed to small children.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to buy stuff like that, but I find it sad that they feel compelled to buy it in the first place.

Comments?
The world is not coming to an end. Every generation thinks the generation under them is mutilating the values of society. Your parents probably thought the same thing about your generation. Things change, and some of that change is good, some of it is bad. Life goes on.

This kind of stuff is wrong even if it is still just perfume they are in a store mainly known for being a producer of lingerie and being encouraged to buy there products.

i shopped at vs when i was younger i needed the extra support and durability that vs offered in a nice simple package the bras i bought lasted me all through out middle school and high school plus vs is tame compared to other stores most of the bras and panties are made for comfort and support like a good bra is supposed to cover. I dont understand why you just assume shes a prostatot just because she got some new underwear from a ladies panty shop. Sure bratz are whores but they're not really they cant be in the bratz universe penises alcohol and drugs don't exist they don't even have the necessary parts nor anything to encourage being whores/sluts. If you wanna know whats wrong with todays youth its how people leave parenting to the schools and teachers aren't paid enough to deal with where do babies come from? type questions honestly sex ed is a good idea but it falls short maybe people need to start talking to their children before they're pawned off on government paid babysitters.

lol, same here. And the thought of Victoria's Secret using little girls as lingerie models was something I considered a bit more disturbing than what this thread turned out to be.

Anyways, while yes, girls that age dressing like sluts is a bit unfortunate, I do recall being thirteen myself, and at the time I'd have been all the happier for girls being dressing slutty. So I'll let it go in honour of my younger brethren.

This is why Bratz are horrible little creatures and should be hunted down and killed like we would zombies.

I've actually intended to make a mini documentary about this exact issue.

I'm all for kids experimenting in the world of adult material - jesus by the time I was 12 I'd seen enough porn to stock a Red Light book store - but curiosity and actions are by far different things - when I was 12 I wasn't buying lube and false-flanges (not that I am now).

I've spent some time trying to figure out whose actually responsible and I can't put my finger on it.

The people producing Thong Bikinis for 5 year old's should certainly be shot, but the fact that they have a market at all suggest some serious parenting issues. And then the media portraying the only valuable woman as one in skimpy clothes sitting on a rappers cock can't be helping.

As for Bratz...I'm not starting on Bratz because this will become a fully fledged rant and I wanted to raise a valid point...I don't remember what that was though...

Man... I hope that by the time I get children, and I have a twelve year old daughter (if it's thirteen now, it might be twelve later), that the media and public is over the whole sexualisation thing, and they can just be normal kids instead of mini sluts getting laid over cigarettes and cheep booze.

That the blame belongs to all and should not be passed off to one entity to be used as a scapegoat?

Let's break this down into a list of people that should all be to blame:
1. Free sexuality movement (let's face if folks the 70's - 90's pretty much created this market)
2. Bad parents that A. don't care B. are not present C. do not want to raise their child
3. Consumers that actually purchase this shit
4. A society that tries to fit women into sexy images and does not take the time to think about what is best for people.
5. Boardroom execs that do not have the common decency to end this tripe.
6. Natural curiosity and availability. Parents no longer talk to their kids about sex so the kid get's curious and decides to see what the attention is like and goes out and buys some sexy clothing and winds up having sex WAY to early basically jump starting their body's progression and programming that all that sex is, is an act that gives pleasure and can be a way to get things.
7. Media (which goes back to the consumers/parents but I digress) is mainly filled with provocative shows that give the wrong image out.

It all boils down to a massive lack of control on everyone's part. Yes I get that we should all be comfortable with our bodies, and what we wear should not matter. This however, would only apply if we were a lower species that NEEDS to have sex and procreate on massive scales to survive. If 90% of our population got wiped out and we went back to primitive times, there would be a socially and economically viable reason for children to get the images they do. However, as we are supposedly "higher beings" we should know that just because we can does not mean we should. Yes sex is great, but it should not be out freely and there is almost no reason to have all of society forming kids up to the joys of carnal exploration. Sex should be reserved to at least high school age and sex related clothing should have a minimum age of at least 17 or something.

It's bad enough I saw a 14 year old girl walking around with a shirt that said the way to a man's heart is through his penis. Incoherent rant over.

Ah I recommend a springfield 108 then. Nice range, decent accuracy, easy to find, and will give you a nice view of the hit.
