Across the universe - a must see, and yet no one even noticed it come out; happily though people tend to agree that its a great movie when they see it
I liked that one! Had a sort of 'caper' feel to it with a dash of grizzly murders and revenge twists. Man, there were a lot of A-list actors in that one, too...I'd recommend it to anyone.Mr.Tea said:Lucky Number Slevin
I thought it was awesome, but no one I know has ever even heard of it... Despite it having a good deal of great actors and a fun plot.
dragonheart was a good movie and i also liked wanted i thought it was a good movie not great but goodWhiteFangofWar said:Dragonheart, my ultimate cult movie though far from absolute favorite. People harp on things like how good everyone's teeth look despite the time period and forget about suspension of disbelief. Overshadowed by the other big medieval 'Heart' movie despite being vastly superior.
There wasn't a single bad frame in Children of Men. Everybody involved rolled a natural 20.CuddlyCombine said:Children of Men, I think. Nobody I've met likes it, yet I'm in love with the movie. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a serious flick which hasn't been corrupted by Hollywood or general idiocy.
i was laughing at that part toLazarus Long said:I loved The Spirit. I honestly didn't understand why I was the only one laughing maniacally at Sam Jackson's mad scientist samurai Nazi pimp antics.
NO EGG... ON MY FACE!
See, that's what I thought. However, most of my friends think it boring and unimpressive. I don't know why.Lazarus Long said:There wasn't a single bad frame in Children of Men. Everybody involved rolled a natural 20.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I feel that every copy of Ghost Rider should be rounded up and burned.Baconator96 said:I hate professional movie critics. anything that isnt artsy or innovative is bland, tasteless, garbage.
but: Ghost Rider, Hancock, and 3:10 to Yuma didnt seem to go over that well
Go with your instinct: Children of Men was excellent.CuddlyCombine said:See, that's what I thought. However, most of my friends think it boring and unimpressive. I don't know why.Lazarus Long said:There wasn't a single bad frame in Children of Men. Everybody involved rolled a natural 20.
I blame the standard run-of-the-mill "explosion orgy" movies that pollute the big screens these days.
What... what is this sensation? Like... my brain... is doing something. This frightens and confuses me.CuddlyCombine said:I blame the standard run-of-the-mill "explosion orgy" movies that pollute the big screens these days.
I thought it was incredible, especially the use of special effects to extend camera takes. I mean, that just blew my mind. It gave it such a cool, real feeling... sigh. Needs a sequel.OuroborosChoked said:Go with your instinct: Children of Men was excellent.
Not a masterpiece... but not THAT far from a masterpiece. It was leagues better than the majority of things out there; both when it came out and now...
Excellent quote, anyway. I agree, though. People want movies to just put everything out in front of them without them having to do anything. It sickens me.Lazarus Long said:What... what is this sensation? Like... my brain... is doing something. This frightens and confuses me.
"If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you really make them think, they'll hate you." - Don Marquis, or possibly Harlan Ellison. I want it to be Unca Harlan, but Marquis has more sources according to Dr. Internet.
