I'd only get the PS3 for exclusives, and Blu-Ray player, but I honestly have never used the Blu-Ray. However, if you have no interest in the exclusives, stay with your 360.

I have been in debate mode for awhile myself for PS3. I can't say that a 360 has got me anymore excited lately, since I never got too excited when the first Xbox came out.

I'm a Playstation Fan, so I guess except for the pricing of some of the new games out for the PS3 (Amazon has some for prices I don't think will ever drop) You guys helped me figure out what system to get.

Is now really a good time to buy any console? some developers are starting to say that the current gen has been maxed.. can't be more than a year or two before the next gen starts to tip up.
even if devs have been saying that, last year microsoft and sony both said that they planned on having the 360 and ps3 last another five years so i don't think the next gen is going to come up too soon.
5 years? I'd be surprised, a ten year life for a fixed platform would be incredible. The only way they could get away with that is if they believe that between them they have the market sewn up and they both agree not to scoop the other. Even then the PC will be stomping all over consoles over the next 5 years if they stay fixed.

Currently I own an Xbox 360 and do all my gaming from there, but there are a few PS3 games which look like they're really worth having a look at. For starters, MAG looks like a helluva lot of fun and I also heard that DC Universe Online will be coming to the PS3 as well as the PC which I really want to check out.

I just want to ask you (especially PS3 owners) if it's worth it for games like this and if there are any others worth checking out (Not LittleBigPlanet!)
Not LittleBigPlanet...? not Little Big Planet. Not LittleBigPlanet...

I guess it just sounds weird no matter how you say it.

MAG is pretty damn unimpressive. DC Universe I suspect will be good if you're an MMORPG player. If you've got the money to swing around go for it, I guess. For Singleplayer gaming I maintain that the PS3 is superior, whereas Xbox is far better at Multiplayer games.

ME2 is coming to PS3 you know.

And yes, it is. Because the differences in hardware, etc are rather negligible, exclusives should be the prime factor in your descision. That and what your friends have.

If you plan on buying a LOT of ps3 exclusives, I'd say yes. It's my favorite system, having owned both, and I've yet to be disappointed by the machine. Any terrible games are most likely the designer's fault anyway.
Some games: God of War 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition. I could go on, but that's your job.

Dude, just look at a list of the exclusives and make the decision yourself.

LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, MGS4, Wipeout HD, Siren, Pixeljunk Games, GT5, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, Resistance, Warhawk, Infamous, Uncharted, God of War, Demon's Souls... If they stand out to you (they should because they're all awesome) then get one.

NO! He should get a PC and then ME 1 & 2. Much better deal we have there.

OT:Well it depends on weather or not there are many games you want on it. I do a lot of my gaming on my PS, and really enjoy it. But that does not say that everyone might.

The PlayStation 2. Ten years and still going pretty strong.

Also, PCs will never stomp all over consoles for the simple reason that they require a small bit of knowledge to keep working. They don't require all that much effort to get working when something goes wrong, but a lot of people don't know -anything- about computers. Hell, you'd be surprised at how many people my age don't even know what the Bold function is in MS Word. These people will buy computers for work purposes and consoles for the ease of use that is 'insert disc to play'.

On Topic: If you like the exclusives available, then yes it's worth it.

Since you have a 360 I assume you already have an HDTV, in that case, definitely yes. 360 though kinda works without one, so if you're doing that you'd need to get an HDTV first in which case it's quite a bit more expensive.

Games I'm looking forward to once new years HDTV sales come around - Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, M.A.G., Catherine (unreleased Atlus RPG), Echochrome (and Echochrome 2), SOCOM 4 really has my attention for a Move based shooter, Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3 version has mod, mutator and total conversion support, as well as mouse & keyboard), Fat Princess, Persona 5 (It isn't announced yet, but people are working on it so it is coming out). Depends on what you're interested in of course, but there are a lot of games to be keeping a close eye on.

After my 360 bricked, I got a PS3 and haven't looked back. Unless you love, and I mean LOVE shooters, go with the PS3.

I've been playing Disgaea 3 so long that I freak out if it's not in my drive when I boot it up.
If you truly love shooters you don't use a 360 anyway. It's either PC or PS3 with Unreal Tournament 3 and Time Crisis 4, and if Move turns out good SOCOM 4, RE5, Killzone 3 and many more to come. Playing an FPS with a control pad is a travesty.

If you got a HDMI cable and HD TV then yeah its awesome. If your like me and have a video rental store that has a shit tons of games and blu-ray movies, then its probably the best thing you've ever bought gaming wise.

Did I mention they have a 2 for 1 deal on old releases?
