This is completely subjective.
Got it? Ok, moving on.

I tried some of those "must-have exclusives" (most on recommendation from The Escapist, no less) at my buddy's:
*MAG was underwhelming. What else can I say about it?
*Killzone 2 was pretty, but ultimately nothing worth playing (Have you played Gears of War and/or Modern Warfare? You've already played half of Killzone 2 then. Though the best gun ever made is present here)
*Folklore was an awesome concept that quickly became boring (the gameplay...ugh. I hope it gets better later)
*Uncharted 1 (Meh. It's ok. Not enough to make me want to play 2 though)
*Metal Gear Solid 4 (They weren't kidding. WAY too bloody wordy, not enough gameplay)
*Warhawk (not recommended to me here, but fucking fun flight controls and great concept. Drawback? Multiplayer only.)

The PS3's games...well. I don't really want to buy a PS3 anymore.

Yes. Buy one now.

But avoid MAG; to be honest, I'm pretty sure that it's gonna end up like those games that come out and have a multiplayer fanbase for a year and after that it dies out completely and crawls into the bargain bin for five dollars.

Check out the Uncharted series; it's really fuckin' good!

Yes, the 360 only has 5 real exclusives (Halo 3 & ODST, Gears 2, and Forza 2 & 3), only 1 of which doesn't have games in the series on PC (Halo 1&2 and Gears 1 are on PC). Every other 360 exclusive people say are also on PC so they are really exclusive (like Fable or L4D).

The best combo is a gaming PC with a PS3 and maybe a Wii, less than 10 games this generation will unplayable.

Plus the PS3 controller has a real D-pad as opposed to the 360's extra stick (though the triggers on the 360 controller are a bit more comfortable for long-term driving in games that require a lot of holding them down).

I would say no. I own a PS3 and I fucking love it but its not worth buying a PS3 if you have an Xbox already, you probably shoulda went with a PS3 to begin with but its a bit late for shoulda's and woulda's.
MAG and DC universe arn't really my kinda games though, so maybe I'm not the one to go to. But I would say get inFamous (or the sequel), one if the Uncharted Games or Killzone 2 (Or wait for the new one).
There's plenty of PS3 exclusives so I'm sure there is some you would like. Probably enough to be worth buying a PS3, but if you have other things you need to spend the money on, don't buy a PS3.

I got a ps3 for christmas because my xbox had a hardware failure, and when i got it fixed it still ran at a much slower rate.

Its been alright so far, I use it as my main console due to the slowness of my xbox (which i use for l4d and mass effect)

But recently I kinda wished Id just bought an elite or put up with it until the slim, after a lengthy session round my friends on xbox, it made me realise what I left behind (Not in terms of quality, but community, friends etc etc)

My advice is to just stick with one console. Even with exclusives its not really worth it, I have about 7 ps3 exclusives (which is why I wanted a ps3) but now it just seemed like a bit of a waste of money.

Also, at the end of the day, it doesent matter about all this stuff people say to say which consoles better, you either get the same console s your friends, get the one that for some reason clicked on you, or get it randomly as a christmas present or something.

Why are people saying the exclusives are the only thing worth buying the console for? in the long run it's not a good investmnt.

I think the thing with MAG is how many players play simultaneously, it's pushing the boundaries and I'm sure a lot more games will be taking that on in the future. I'm still curious to see what it's like playing with that many people.

Uncharted 1 did seem to be underwhelming, but Uncharted 2 is what everyone's talking about right now, and by all accounts you might as well skip U1 entirely.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - yeah, it's only for a certain type of person. If you've played earlier MGS games you'd know what to expect. Every time you save the game in MGS3 there's an exposition about classic movies.

As for Warhawk being multiplayer only, it's something you do know up front, so it's more of a thing of you either like it or don't and would make that decision before even playing it.

It's what the 360 was banking on in the beginning, so that's what people focus on even if it's not that valid of a reason.

It didn't really do a whole lot with the "Tune your weapons" gimmick; especially since you have to grind your way up in order to even compete.
Then again, I'm from the school of thought that competitive games should be "Start on equal footing, but compete on execution".
It's not wise to start the game by essentially giving new players a mandatory handicap.

MAG also suffers greatly from what ultimately killed Warhawk, but I'm getting to that.

Uncharted 1 did seem to be underwhelming, but Uncharted 2 is what everyone's talking about right now, and by all accounts you might as well skip U1 entirely.
Wish I had known that, but alas, hindsight.

Aye, and that could very well work, except that you need to emphasize GAMEPLAY if you're making a VIDEO GAME. Then again, I didn't go into MGS4 on hype; I have never played a MGS game prior to that. Ever.
It was a "Hey, you got a PS3. Let me see what it can do." moment.

As for Warhawk being multiplayer only, it's something you do know up front, so it's more of a thing of you either like it or don't and would make that decision before even playing it.
I knew that going in, and that was perhaps the worst part.
I'm just disappointed that such a great setup went to waste solely because the game lost a great deal of its playerbase. Even basic botmatches would have kept it alive as a party game.

(ASIDE: I thought that Cell-Processor Sony endlessly hyped meant that the system would be more conductive to multitasking, making it PERFECT for AI. Granted, this is a relatively early title for the system, but that doesn't mean they couldn't update it or adapt the concept)

Normally I'd get DCUO for my PC, but it's a seven year old piece of crap that I don't game on so not much point in upgrading it.
In that case I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading a PC unless you're a devout console gamer, while I have a PS3, I seldom use it due to the convinience of a computer, deals are often cheaper for PC too, DCUO I assume would be much easier to play (communication in particular would be easy, though I suppose you could use a Mic for that) and exclusives do exist for the PC (Diablo 3 and SC2 spring to mind, if they're your cup-o-tea). Hell, there are free games out there which are pretty damn good, too.

On the other hand you do have a working (or semi-working) PC, so oh well.
