Y'know, I'm really curious as to how this 'boycott' is going to go. Solo will make less money than TLJ (almost certainly at least), so that's practically guaranteed to be cited as an example of the boycott 'working.'
Yeah...sorry Star Wars fans, you ain't Rosa Parks.

My question is - why boycott Solo? It has male leads, supporting cast and villain. There's hardly a women in sight. Aren't they just going to punish a male lead, thus the feedback to Keneally would be "put more female leads in."
Well, TBH, there's quite a few females - Qi'ra, L3, Val...yeah, the males outnumber them, but it's close to 50/50 (as opposed to the OT and PT, where female characters were very much the minority).
That said, I don't quite get the reasons for the boycott. If you disliked TLJ, fine. If you want Kathleen Kennedy to go, fine. But how much relation does Solo have to TLJ when it's a completely different movie (far as I can tell at least)? I could kind of understand the idea of boycotting Episode IX, but this sort of feels like throwing out the baby with the bath water. If you don't like TLJ, wouldn't it be better to support films that AREN'T like TLJ? And while you could say the idea is that you're trying to hold the franchise to ransom by hurting Disney's wallet, this feels like a shotgun approach.
Also, I have to question why one bad (if you think TLJ is bad - I don't) is enough to get you to boycott a franchise. If I boycotted a film franchise every time a lacklustre film was made in said franchise, then that's a lot of film franchises I'd stop watching.
But even all that aside, has a boycott of a franchise ever effected change? People say we should boycott EA/Activision/AAA games/whatever all the time, it doesn't stop those games from selling.
Edit: I should specify that I'm actually looking forward to Solo myself. I didn't for a long time, but I will admit that the trailers have sold me on it.
