Pure Pwnage web show, it was an awesome satire on pro gamers, however the directors left to concentrated on tv andd it might never be continued.
As for a videogame, probably the spyro series.
The first three (on PS1. Get them from PSN store. Now) were amazing but after insomniac stopped making them they went down the shitter.

The Freespace series, Unreal (2,championship and tournament don't count :p), longest journey. Those are the 3 franchises I'd love to play a more of.

Also Caprica, I havn't found time to watch the first part of it yet. Don't want it getting cancelled till I know what I'm missing...
have you got the the freespace 2 open source upgrade project? it kicks an unbelievable amount of ass.
tbh I haven't gotten around to it I've been a bit swamped in my gaming of late.

A Song of Ice and Fire.

Nothing anybody else says in this thread matters, thusly.

At least until Georgie-boy finishes the series.

Then the world can start turning again.
I think that he is probably about done, just needs to finish a few POVs and Dance will be out by next spring or summer.

That said, I've heard that the books in the middle of series are always the toughest because that's where all the action goes down. All he has to do in The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring is wrap up the story... the gigantic sprawling story... fuck, they're never coming out. Just kidding I have faith in GRRM.

Edit: At least we will have at least one season of it on HBO, and I think once we get that and it becomes the biggest hit since Lost we'll get even more.
Heard through the vine that it would be *looks at calendar*--On the 29th.

Then again, George's broken deadlines before.

A lot.

The Song's too complex not to have more seasons. Too much material to just ignore unless it doesn't get any bites--which it will, considering it's one of the most dramatic reads out there that's encompassed in a badass plot, which could easily translate into an incredible series.
If you got that from Amazon they don't know, they're just guessing.

No arguments here, I think that if GRRM finishes and they can get most of the stars to stay on, I think it could go for the full seven.

Did you see the new trailers that came out a few weeks ago? I got my new avatar from a screen cap I took of it. It's The Mountain That Rides, and he looks pretty badass.
Any links there, my Westerosi friend?

Age of Mythology. I've said this before, but there needs to be a sequel with better graphics and more civilizations like the Japanese, Persians, Aztecs, etc.

The title says it all. I'm sure we all have a few of them. However, I'd like to ask that Firefly be kept out of this discussion, if at all possible. That's a whole separate thread that pops up every...*counts fingers and toes*...4.36 days. If you'd still like to lament a Joss Whedon series, may I suggest Dollhouse?

Personally, I'm a big fan of the NYX series from Marvel. I fell in love with the characters and artistry, although the original artist did leave and things went down hill a bit. It was an interesting comic and it had a decent run. Really it's probably a tad premature to think it dead though.

...Also Dead Like Me shouldn't have been canceled /rage.
I've never seen Dollhouse, but I want to make sweet love to you right now for everything else you said. Unless you're underaged, which then I would like to tell the crew of Dateline NBC, that I did not know and wasn't serious with my statement.

Last year NYX was continued with a miniseries called "No Way Home", the original creative talent didn't return, although Quesada was involved with the plot.

Yeah, like you said Dead Like Me shouldn't have been canceled, and the lackluster "Life After Death" was a proposal to Showtime to renew the show, but so far we still have no word.

And to add some series:

-Pushing Daisies: I absolutely adored this show. Bryan Fuller seems to have some curse with creating brilliant, original, and quirky television programs that live a short life. Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, and Pushing Daisies all lived short but fufilling lives. At least unlike Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies received closure. It was a rushed one, that still had loose ends, but it was closure nonetheless.

-The Master and Commander movies: The 2003 motion picture adaptation of The Far Side of the World made a mass killing in the box office, was well received by audiences and critics alike and earned 10 Oscar nods. It was played so many times in my best friend's VCR, that the tape was chewed up by the machine. The Far Side of the World was just one in a series of 20 (and one unfinished) books, and plans for a continuation of the series has been in development hell for seven years.

-Sin Episodes: VALVe is my favorite developer but damn them for popularizing the concept of episodic installments, and abandoning them like every other developer who jumped on their bandwagon to nowhere. Ritual Entertainment was one of the first to follow them and fall victim to this ideology, and released the sequel to their 1998 FPS Sin, which was a well liked and influential title which was eclipsed in the shadow of Half-Life. After releasing the first episode titled Emergence which ending in an expected cliffhanger, Ritual was bought by a casual games company that had no interest in continuing the series. Most of the developers quit or found jobs elsewhere, some banded together and even tried to buy back the rights under a new roof to no success.

-Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog: After becoming an international internet sensation that relieved weary people suffering from the writer's strike, there were all sorts of talk of a next installment. Nathon Fillion and Joss Whedon confirmed the sequel. Rumors that the next part (whose predecessor was written, shot and edited within just months with time to create an entirely separate musical just for the commentary track) was to come shortly was dashed by the writer's strike ending that the principal cast resuming day jobs. Shooting was scheduled to begin within the next year, then the next, then the next, and now Whedon is directing the Avengers. Will it just be a one time hit, whose original success wasn't sullied by a lesser sequel there only to milk the success? Who knows.

-The Team Fortress 2 Meet the Team videos: They eat up a lot of resources from the writing and animation departments and VALVe releases them for free. I'm not sure how much new publicity they get for it, so I don't blame them.

-Vampire: The Masquerade: Oh wait. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103767-CCP-Teases-New-Vampire-the-Masquerade-MMOG]
I'm aware of NYX: No Way Home read most of it, really need to buy the collection. But anyways Hello person of similar interests :D

I didn't know that Life after Death was actually a proposal to renew the show. I'd rather it stay wonderful in my memories though if they can't bring back the original cast. The lack of Mandy Patinkin really showed how the whole dynamic was thrown off in the movie.

Thanks for the good post man. Actually learned some things I didn't know and I'll have to check out a few of the things you mentioned. I've been meaning to find time to watch Pushing Daisies on netflix but just haven't had it lately.

My heart says yes but my brain says no :(. Considering the development hell the original three went through, and how complex/story heavy the series is I'm pretty sure any attempts to revive it would be so awful as to drive me to tears. If they fucked up KOS-MOS there wouldn't be tears, there would be death.
Yeah..probably.
It's tear bringing enough we'll never see what was supposed to happen.
Were we going to see Lost Jerusalem?
Would they see chaos again?
Was KOS-MOS doomed to float alone forever?
/tear

I really hope they make another movie or a mini-series to wrap up the X-Files before the aliens invade...I...I mean 2012. The reaction to I Want to Believe seems to indicate that this may not happen :(

Dead Like Me was awesome and the movie did it NO justice and there's still a lot of questions unanswered. Also Wonderfalls should have never been canceled, but if we're talking about things I don't want to end, well Runaways (comic series) is quite good, but there hasn't been a lot of noise on that end recently, so it's got me a bit worried.

Games - Vagrant Story, everything worked so well, story and combat system both awesome.

Bushido Blade - about a million times better than others (soul calibur etal) massive world to chop your mates legs off in (needs a current gen redo)

Mechwarrior - altho it could be more challenging, ie. leg armour for enemies that doesnt suck

Pro Evo/WE - Needs to get back to being a FIFA beater as its dross atm, used to be godlike

Shogo MAD - Awesome game, the ability to mech up or go it on foot was brilliant

TV - That whedon project that cannot be named, really need to know Books backstory

Dollhouse - Needed to be given longer to grow

Enterprise - Canned when it got good

Studio 60 - shouldve got so much longer

Thats all of my cancellation peeves, altho with games you never know, hell duke nukem forever might come out one day!

Knights of the Old Republic.

No, The Old Republic does not count. It is an MMO.

As for non-video game media, well, you asked me not to say it.

EDIT: While I'm on the subject of Star Wars games that will never get sequels, the Jedi Knight series, Battlefront and Republic Commando.

Wasted opportunities. I would throw money at them.
I share each of these views 100% Especially the non-video game one.

For originality, I'm going to go with a new .hack series of games/anime. Or a new Summoner game, for anyone that is a fan of the series... For TV shows, I would say that somehow, the ending to season 3 of Arrested Development is written so that they could continue everything.

Edit: How is it with every one of these type of threads I fail to remember Jade Empire, even though It is one of my favourite games ever?

the BBC series Sherlock. anyone who watched it will know what i'm talking about, three episodes was waaaay too short for it, and that cliffhanger...
