As much as people loath Karen Traviss in the Star Wars Circles, I really wanted this series to end. As it is, Imperial Commando 2 is nowhere to be seen, and probably never will be either.
Besides, Traviss actually gave him some form of personality as well as giving clones a chance to have some humanity.
absolutely wonderful series.TheGameXXVII said:the BBC series Sherlock. anyone who watched it will know what i'm talking about, three episodes was waaaay too short for it, and that cliffhanger...
Ok, I can totally accept that. I fine with other people not liking things when they have real reasons. It's just most of the comments I had seen didn't really explain what they thought was wrong, just that it wasn't 'real' Stargate and it had no redeeming value. I'm glad you agree it has it's good parts even if it doesn't exactly fit, and who knows? Maybe season two will surprise everyone.Cowabungaa said:Here's an SG1 fan speaking; I really don't like the added drama. It desperately wants to go the Battlestar Galactica way (which is one of my favourite shows of all time) with deep characters and complex drama and the likes, but if you ask me that just doesn't really fit with the Stargate universe. I adore SG1 for it's delicious B-movie feel, pulpy and fun with the occasional touching heroics.
SG:U kicks all of that out of the door and tries really hard to be something else, so hard it feels very forced to me. The first episode episode alone made me wonder what the hell they're doing. Less than an hour in the series and someone we hardly know heroically sacrifices himself? Everyone's shocked and touched and whatnot, but what I just met the guy, what am I supposed to feel? And since when do "deep characters" mean that everyone's just a complete unlikeable asshole that just has a ton of problems?
And yet I keep watching SG:U. Maybe it's some kind of morbid fascination, I don't know, but I still want to know what's going to happen.
Oh and agreed on Enterprise, I adored that show. It retained that Star Trek feel I like but still felt fresh and new. That alone should make it pretty clear that I'm cool with series taking a new direction, but SG:U almost pretends like everything in the Stargate-verse before it never happened. It's pretty much Stargate in name only.
that's not a cliffhanger. that's how Jack Black speaks, and the customary thing to say in such a situation.open trap said:If you free roamed after beating it your objective always said something like this Brutal land is free once again...for nowrokkolpo said:that wasn't much of a cliffhanger.open trap said:I hope they make a sequal o Brutal Legend, espically with that cliff hanger.

In any way it made me think there would be a sequal and i hope there is.rokkolpo said:that's not a cliffhanger. that's how Jack Black speaks, and the customary thing to say in such a situation.open trap said:If you free roamed after beating it your objective always said something like this Brutal land is free once again...for nowrokkolpo said:that wasn't much of a cliffhanger.open trap said:I hope they make a sequal o Brutal Legend, espically with that cliff hanger.

if you saw another kind of demon (eddie riggs mom) spawning after the credits, now that would be a cliffhanger.

Nothing anybody else says in this thread matters, thusly.
At least until Georgie-boy finishes the series.
Then the world can start turning again.
That said, I've heard that the books in the middle of series are always the toughest because that's where all the action goes down. All he has to do in The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring is wrap up the story... the gigantic sprawling story... fuck, they're never coming out. Just kidding I have faith in GRRM.
Edit: At least we will have at least one season of it on HBO, and I think once we get that and it becomes the biggest hit since Lost we'll get even more.
Then again, George's broken deadlines before.
A lot.
The Song's too complex not to have more seasons. Too much material to just ignore unless it doesn't get any bites--which it will, considering it's one of the most dramatic reads out there that's encompassed in a badass plot, which could easily translate into an incredible series.
No arguments here, I think that if GRRM finishes and they can get most of the stars to stay on, I think it could go for the full seven.
Did you see the new trailers that came out a few weeks ago? I got my new avatar from a screen cap I took of it. It's The Mountain That Rides, and he looks pretty badass.

Just something to remember for the Raven trailer is that they have made everything look more gray also the behind the scenes trailer is just that behind the scenes so HBO haven't worked their magic yet.
Here are most of the stills from the two videos and at the end there are some new stills of Ned and Theon at the execution form the beginning of the book that were in a trailer for all up coming shows coming to HBO but I couldn't find it on youtube.

Completely agree on That Look being up and down but it is ten times better than their most recent solo projects, the bubble, jesus christ that would have been a sketch to them together not an actual show and webbs movie mistakes was pure career aftermath that is usually saved for retirement.Calico93 said:Yeah ! Hope they carry on as a duo, both of them are hilarious
I LOVE both Arrested Development and I'm Alan Partridge, could you recommend any tv series that you think I may like so I can find some shows I may have missed, for you I recommend Curb Your Enthusiasm, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Green Wing, Peep Show & Venture Brothers, if you have seen these already maybe give The American Office a try it is completely different to the uk version but has it's own charm and memorable characters which after a few episodes you will want to follow.Jasper Jeffs said:Archer, Arrested Development and I'm Alan Partridge.

1.Freeman's mind, it's a good series and it seems the guy who runs it runs into another problem.
2.Dead Like Me,I'm still holding on to hope for that one. That show was outright brilliant it desereves atleast another 2 seasons.

Same here. After the cliff-hangers in that last episode (despite the fact that the commerical right after answered some questions), I really can't wait for season two. I'm not a huge fan of the Stargate universe, but Stargate Universe (perhaps I should have used different words there) really drew me in. I would be very sad if they discontinued it.Mike Richards said:Stargate Universe, just because I'm worried.
Speaking as someone who never really got into the other Stargates (although I could see myself casually off-and-on continuing Atlantis beyond episode one), I absolutely loved the new direction for the series.
The drama, the characters, the mystery, everything seemed to come together way better then first seasons usually get too, and I can't wait for season two to start on Tuesday.
However, I know the overwhelming majority of existing fans of the franchise hated to its core and desperately desire being able to watch the entire cast and crew get spaced. And the real tragic part is I haven't seen any of these fans give a reason that doesn't sound like it stems directly from fan-boy hatred of anything that tries to be different then what they've done before (See the same attitude that got Enterprise canceled, something I will never forgive the human race for).
I honestly don't know how well it's doing for itself, and as usual in these situations those that hate are louder then those that don't, but I really hope this one stays around for a while. Or at least they get enough warning to give it a proper ending. The Destiny deserves nothing less.
Couldnt agree more, I watched the bubble but it wasnt anything special, watchable to say the least, and their films were a bit mehh like magicians =/ didnt really work but not badTipsy Giant said:Completely agree on That Look being up and down but it is ten times better than their most recent solo projects, the bubble, jesus christ that would have been a sketch to them together not an actual show and webbs movie mistakes was pure career aftermath that is usually saved for retirement.Calico93 said:Yeah !
