Tetris, I love the music and it's meditative. Or RE3 or Nightmare Creatures when I wanna make something bleed. Badly.
Hehe, nothing beats the oldies.

Super Mario Galaxy, it's not too hard (with a few exeptions), never gets boring and for some reason really makes me feel relaxed.
I've not played the game much, but what I did felt pretty fresh and fun. :d

Its been mentioned but I'll say it again.
El Mighty Serious Sam!
Yeah, Serious Sam is a "More Mature" and comical approach to wicked fun. :D (imo)

I played Dead Space today for the first time and although some situations are definitely not relaxing, I have to say I enjoyed myself the whole time. Even dying never pissed me off.
Crapping my pants isnt my idea of a stress reliever
I get a couple of sudden scares but I can't say I had any real pants-crapping moments. Well maybe last nightwhen I was flooden with enemies, out of stasis and health and no way to regenerate any of them.
Got goosebumps more than twice though, and the atmosphere's great.

Merceinaries 2 with cheats on, using moabs and nukes everywhere or just sitting there in a tank while everyone pummuls you hopelessly and you randomly pick them off or leveling entire bases with helicopter rockets. Ahhhh, i feel so much better.
I've yet to play mercs, but that sounds awesome fun. :)

Play it without cheats first and get your moneys worth and trophies, (well half of it if you belive people who say it sucks), then play with cheats, you'll be amazed how quickly you can get through it.

To answer this question, I shall use an example.

I downloaded two demos the other day, one for mirrors edge, the other for tomb raider.

I played mirrors edge and had an absolute blast. I wouldn't delete that demo for anything, except if someone offered me a copy of the full game if I did.

Then I played tomb raider. The animations were clunky, the only enemy area I got to was dull and repetitive (Jump around, shoot stuff, rinse, repeat). However, I forced myself to stick with it, but then I came across an area where it wasn't clear where you had to go, if you failed you went back five minutes and the jumping mechanics seemed worse than legend.

Either way, I immediately quit, deleted it and went back to mirrors edge

tl;dr: Mirrors Edge demo is the most relaxing and awesome thing ever.

A favourite stress relieving game of mine is Sumotori. Seeing those 2 boxy characters stumble and walk like drunken lunatics just makes me laugh.
Absolutely this! I've never laughed harder at a game. Sumotori's physics are crazy, but watching the cool box men struggle time and time again to bow to one another brings me close to tears. I always feel good after watching Sumotori for half an hour or so. After you start to get bored, you can always play the "secret" game and toss cubes at one little box man to keep him on the ground flailing about or just knock him off the edge. Flippin' sweet.

And flOw is outrageously chill, but I'm not sure if it's necessarily stress relieving (for me).

Painkiller successfully distracted me the day before A-level results. Which is a feat and a half when you think about it. Portal is immersive, interesting, relaxing (nice ambient background music, neutral textures, minimalistic design) and funny as hell. And Jets 'n' Guns Gold is supremely easy bullet heaven once you've beaten it once or twice...

Littlebigplanet, seriously nothing makes you stop swearing like building a baby blue rocket and flying it around whilst screaming "wheeeee!" to your hearts content.

Audiosurf has always been my pick. Just pick a nice, relaxing song and then take it from there.

Fallout 3 for me. Nothing brings a smile to ones face like taking a rocket launcher and blowing up a group in the chruch at Megaton, reload, and do it again and again.

Ahh, so many games this makes me want to give a try. Oh and, I agree with audio surf as well, nice that it'll let you choose your own music.

i would have to say the most relaxing game is Fifa. I could just sit down and relax playing that game till im satisfied. It is even BETTER when you turn the volume down on the game and turn the colume up on some mad speaker to blast your favourite tunes from..
It's even relaxing with friends (not when your competing or betting) but when you and some mates are just lounging around passing the controllers chatting abour random stuff not even caring who wins... Or pretending not to care lol..
But to me that is why i think fifa is one of the most relaxing games EVER!!!
Who agrees??
