It blows my mind that there is such an epidemic of "depression" out there. Now, I'm a bit of an optimist myself, but there's only one thing I have to say.

To all those suffering from depression:

There are people all over Africa suffering from far more than just being depressed. Starvation, disease, homelessness, wild animals, drought, civil wars, marauders, pirates, warlords, genocide, slavery and more.

Your personal problems really aren't that bad, now are they?
Depression can also be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and often is.

The OP is also 16(if his profile is to be believed), pretty much all antidepressants say they might increase incidences of suicidal thoughts and or ideation, particularly in teenagers and young adults.

I justhad to check back on this thread. Awesome! Though I didn't know her age, so I feel sick to myself for suggesting disseminating it online. Fortunately you're smart enough to not do that dumbass thing.

As a professional working in health care I feel it is might job to remind everyone reading this thread that pharmaceuticals are very powerful and medical treatment is a very complex task. You should always consult a doctor before changing your medication or stopping with it entirely. If you are uncertain about the side effects of your current medication or are hesitant to start with a new medicine, consult a doctor with these concerns. Do not under any circumstances stop taking your medication or alter the dosage without consulting the prescribing doctor.

Haven't read much of the thread, but everyones different, we all have varying dosage tolerances, pharmokinetics/pharmodynamics and side effects. A drug that's good for 9 out of 10 people might be horrible for the tenth. Factors like concentration and frequency along with sheer random luck can affect these things.
