Well that certainly annoys me,thought a last minute boost to my score would ensure my position on the leaderboard. Bah...congratulations to those who got on the leaderboard then, even if I'm bitter about it =P

Is the contest over? I've been clicking on badges for the better part of half an hour now and my 205 on the leaderboard hasn't changed. The rules state that the contest isn't over until 11:59 EDT though. Just wondering 'cause I would like to know if I can stop now =P

Yeah I think it might be over. All the ads for it on the front page are gone. They may have just decided to end it early or something so they can start sorting out if they are going to kick some of us from the leaderboard for any possible cheating.

Well it might NOT be over yet, you can still try to boost your score. Your score might just be slow at updating for all I know. I would wait until sOosleepie says it's over or not.

Well I would like to say it's been fun, but in all honesty this game has kept me from enjoying this site, any other sites, and any other games. Extremely glad it's over!

Now just hoping it was all worthwhile. Good luck to everyone, but I do admit I hope to get a system.

You know what would be awesome. If The Escapist could list just how many profiles each of us looked at. Then we could also see who had the best strategy on where to look for profiles or just got lucky.

Personally, I think the best place I kept checking was the "Newest Members" box on the Community page. Just figured there would be a lot of people creating accounts specificly for the game. Or people creating extra accounts just to add to their total finds.

I don't want to come off as a nag but 'official' confirmation that the contest is indeed over would be awesome =P Since the rules do specifiy a rather exact date and time for the 'contest period'

Ha, I did the same thing, then just kept reloading the "who's online" page over and over after clicking on all the profiles that had US or Canada flags, or didn't have any flags. Albeit wasn't the best system, but at least I'm still on the leaderboard!

Agreed. However, I didn't look into the Newest Members as much though. I figured out something interesting- that old threads containing competitions or events like March Mayhem had a lot of Users who have Fallen Angel Badges.

In fact, most even displayed them as their top 4 Badges. That's where I would hit 12 in less then 20 minutes while still looking onward to other Threads containing competitions. Was awesome of course ^_^.

I didn't even think of that. I did go through the User Groups because you can sort them by last visit, but didn't find a whole lot that way. Even in the Badge Hunter's Group!

Hoping the leaderboard was just frozen in order to update and remove anyone caught cheating. If that's the case I hope the badges people have found in the meantime are still being recorded.

Well, that's unfortunate. I had a list of a few hundred badgeholders that I'd been working up over the past few days. I figured I'd hit them all in one go before the contest ended but it seems the times listed in the contest rules were somewhat inaccurate. So much for that plan.

I went with the "who's online" US/Canada strategy and it worked pretty well - that and checking the escapist badge-hunter's group. =)

I...kinda forgot to use the user groups. I don't normally talk on the site (obviously, since I have only 30 some posts in the 3 years I've been here.) Maybe next contest I'll be more active in them.

It looks like you got caught for hitting it over multiple time periods that together looked like an attack. I've removed the block for now (on everyone who may have been firewalled today - about 7 ip ranges), and will review my records tomorrow.

I just want to apologize for the fast clicking a lot of us have been doing for this contest. At least it seems to be over now. I know most, if not all of us, didn't intend to make it look like we were attacking the site.

We can all rest somewhat easier now that it's done, or almost done.

Haha really? I am the founder of 'Hot Topic Escapists Group' who I passed the Group onto a really awesome User and friend who's name is [user]Trezu[/user]. But, yeah I made the Group mainly to help Users get more attention for their Threads and to help Users find interesting Threads to post in. It's pretty nice really, and I am fortunate. Thanks for using my Group XD I feel proud.
