Hmmm, i like how it said they could download anything on your electronic devices, including music, movies and games. I think the government just wants to download free stuff too. But in a way that makes it look like they are actually "against" it. Bravo gov'na, bravo.
Also, I cant imagine the amount of
they're gonna find. Just the sheer amount of it will crash their systems in a day. just watch....

if you can;t buy its freeware and therefor not piracy.
The Emulators are freeware. The ROMS are not. Odds are good somebody out there still owns the copyright to them, which makes ROM distribution piracy.

Only if it's released as freeware. Otherwise, such copywrited software falls under the category of abandonware. Which is still illegal, whichever way you splice it.

Cause you know, Hollywood isn't rich enough. Doesn't Tom Cruise make like a couple million per day of filming, and the studios still turn a profit. And you honnestly have never pirated anything? Not even music?

Let the record show, by the way, that I have never pirated movies.
I can honestly say I have never.
Me neither (as in ive never gone Pirate) but i still dont want people going through my Pc looking at my Bank Details etc

then write a letter to your congressman/woman and request that they too demand the 'ACTA' negotiations be made public. explain how these negotiatons may have far reaching implications giving a non-US body absolute jurisdiction over private property held by US Citizenry with no congressional aproval nor any legal merit.
Agreed with this.

Also write the President, after all he did say he believed the flow of information should be more open. That is of course if this ACTA thing actually even exists, which given that it's conducted in secret like some sort of Illuminati-type deal, I have reason to believe that it doesn't. Cause people can make up anything about it. freepress.net isn't sending me emails telling me to write people about it, no they're sending me emails about real issues like the Comcast/NBC merger which I vehemently oppose. But then again if this is real, then maybe, instead of sitting on your ass posting links to videos etc., perhaps you should be writing to Congress, OP.

tl;dr version: Write the government figures that need to be written to, don't just sit on your ass whining about how the Internet is going to get killed. Seriously that is all I see ever about this ACTA thing. People complaining but not actually doing anything. So seriously. Do something. Don't tell me to do something first.

tl;dr, tl;dr version: Either do something productive or stop posting about it.

I am actually livid. This is the worst idea ever.

Cutting off my internet access if you think I'm breaching copyright? Policing everything I upload? Searching my hard drive without my permission? You fucking cunts.

They can!
To have access to your hard drive is to have access to all of youre files some of which are financial, especially if you do banking things online which many including myself do.

Yes, they can. It pretty much says so in the treaty.

All of you 'anti-any-piracy' types who believe all pirates should be dealt with harshly and quickly but don't like this treaty: You all got what you deserved. I'm glad my hard-core game piracy days are over and I've moved on to other things, this will never touch me. Want to stop this? Start looking beyond your own perspectives and work together whether or not the guy next to you is a self-avowed pirate or not.
