then write a letter to your congressman/woman and request that they too demand the 'ACTA' negotiations be made public. explain how these negotiatons may have far reaching implications giving a non-US body absolute jurisdiction over private property held by US Citizenry with no congressional aproval nor any legal merit.
I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but that doesn't work as well as it should. My dad tried sending a letter to our Republican senator about the horrible health care bill they're trying to pass in Washington. When he told them about how bad this would be for the country, the secretary said something on the lines of "We're disappointing that you think this way." Bribery everywhere...

Did anyone else notice it's dated in 2007? That was fucking 2 years ago and I really don't think this will make it. Please give me something to really worry about like global warming or losing the game. XD For the lulz
Two years ago means it's coming sooner. You know how long the government takes to get anything done.

Well I've never had an MP3 player (My parents don't love me! T_T ) and if I did I'd like to buy the songs to put on my MP3, but my parents are far too cheap to pay for things like that.

And if this godforsaken thing ever gets passed I'm starting the revolution, now where did I put that AK-47 I bought the other day...
I am with you on that. I live about 2 hours from D.C. If this gets passed, which I highly doubt, then hell will be raised.
You can be in my guerilla resistance army! :D

I call dibs on what government we get to establish!

I hope not. It would seem this idea may or may not be unconstitutional anyway. I mean, permitting the government to search and copy your files? That's just plain wrong.

Oh, no you don't. We're going to decide that democratically.

Seriously though, spread the word about this, it's a serious breach of human rights.

"War on sharing"

I rarely say anything similar, but seriously... LOLWUT?!

This is very, very unlikely. They don't have the time, manpower and funds to search every single hard drive on Earth, nor can they pull down certain sharing sites on the Internet.

Just remember, you don't even have to have pirated anything. Just accused. Thrice.
Doesn't that go against "Innocent until proven guilty"?

I don't see much of a problem, since most people are getting worked up since they themselves pirate. It's as simple as; If you have nothing to be guilty of, why worry? If you don't pirate, and don't have anything that could consider you a pirate, why care? The worst I have on my computer is probably porn...
They can send you to prison and confiscate your computer, cut off your internet (forever), and confiscate your mp3-compatible devices just because they accused you thrice.

Indeed it does.

Keep in mind, not every country has this...

And the likely hood of this passing is slim at best. There are too many groups the would fight this and if it did there would be a global up rising so massive they would have to over turn it. If I'm wrong, which I doubt, I'll be the first to admit to it then join the up rising.

A. There's WAY more important shit to be worried about other than some fucking kid "stealing" music.

B. Those fucking musicians have enough money, and they'll continue to make FUCKLOADS of money even if people illegally download. This is a waste of time, money, resources and pretty much EVERYTHING; all because a musician is going to have to wait another 4 months before buying another luxury car.
It's not about the musicians. It's about the greedy corporations.
They own the musicians, so, same thing (kinda). Either way some jackass is going to be profiting from this.
I think I smell a hint of North Korea...

When I think about it, this is an anarchist's wet dream.

Even though I don't think this will happen, I hope it does. Then I'll have a reason to kick somebody's ass.

When the riots start... If this passes, I'll be hopping a ride to Chuchill, Manitoba.

With a Television and a Dreamcast.

No need for the internet with those...

I wonder how many politicians would have their shit seized and searched. They will strike this thing down before it goes anywhere in the legislation.

I'm also very happy I own either a laptop nor a MP3 player. The government can kiss my ass. Thanks dems for electing this baffoon.

They could take away your Dreamcast, saying you pirated games for it.
