Call of Duty is a pretty great series, but nothing more significant than a solid FPS. How you can compare a solid video game series to movies is kinda beyond me. It's the proverbial apples and oranges. And even if the Activision guy means "like Star Wars" in the cultural impact sense, I still disagree. Video games and movies affect culture in different ways, and I can't see how the huge influence of Star Wars can be compared to a game that is only truly great when experienced in multiplayer mode.

Keep in mind, CoD did change the industry just as much as Star Wars.

Now most of the games that are released are boring brown and bloom FPSs with a lot of bugs and expensive DLC packs!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOO. NO.NO. Its a decent FPS, becuase all the kids that played Halo thought that this was thier first "Serious FPS". The game itself is just a popculture trend. Whoever said it was like Starwars should be smacked. Everyone knows Mass Effect takes that prize. XP

Lately I'm starting to wonder; are today's successful people completely unaware of the fact that hubris offends? Lebron James seemingly had no idea that his ill-advised display of extreme narcissism would turn most of America against him, and Activision is gracing us with another arrogant whopper almost weekly. These people want to be liked, but they can't stop doing or saying really egotistical bullshit. Why?

Yes.

A series ruined by too many sequels in a vain attempt at making ungodly amounts of money.
I'd hardly say it was in vain. They made absurd amounts of dosh.

Well, he's wrong. Modern Warfare has only been big for about 3 years. Before that it was Halo.

If the franchise is still on top after a few decades he can say that, but not right now.

Also, Lucas didn't walk out after 2 films because of being scammed by 20th Century Fox. Think about that Activision.
