Oh lots. Off the top of my head, I think Michael Fassbender is one of the 2-3 best actors working in the industry today, and I absolutely love the way Carey Mulligan emotes with her eyes.

[HEADING=2]michael fassbender[/HEADING] is a big one people have mentioned in here, I don't think there is a role he's played that I didn't want to see more of him in it.
[HEADING=2]heath ledger[/HEADING] was a big one growing up, I was very sad when he died at such a young age, not to be selfish but I felt like he hadn't even had given us his best work yet.
[HEADING=2]Alan Tudyk[/HEADING] is another one, he's done so many different voices/characters that it's so impressive to me they are all coming from the same person, I always perk up anytime I see his name in a film/cartoon/game.
and there are many more males I could say for sure, but I'm going to keep it even and list some of my favorite females now:
[HEADING=2]Hilarie Burton[/HEADING] she's a tv actress more than any movies, but I do like her on screen alot, she's given off strong and assertive roles amazingly well while also being able to fill the sarcastic/humor and dramatic roles beautifully as well.
[HEADING=2]Charlize Theron[/HEADING]...what a BAMF, I can totally get immersed with her on screen...and at the same time I'd do stupid things to be able to take her out for a nice steak dinner.
[HEADING=2]Emily blunt[/HEADING] I remember seeing her in the five year engagement and adjustment Bureau and thinking "oh, she's beautiful and fits this role", but she jumped up to "WOWZA" after I saw her in edge of tomorrow, she was awesome in that.

All have pretty much been mentioned, but:
-Keanu Reeves. I'll be the first to admit he's not a great actor, but he's apparently one of the nicest and most genuine guys in Hollywood, and from what I've heard basically gives away his paychecks to the film's crew.
-Hugh Jackman. He just seems like he'd be an awesome guy to hang out with. Also any person who got fired from 7-11 for talking to customers too much is cool in my book.
-Jennifer Lawrence. I do think she's a good actress but not as revelatory as people make her out to be, but she seems really grounded and funny and very anti-Hollywood glitz.

People already mentioned a lot of the fantastic actors around right now. Fassbender is amazing,Keanu is awesome (for action movies!), Pitt is really good.
I am really surprised no one has mentioned Daniel Day-Lewis yet. He just blows me away in every movie he is in. He literally becomes the character. The dude is amazing. And that is why I want him to do a True Detective season.
Also surprised by exclusion of the best action actor ever, Jackie Chan. A joy to watch in every movie.

Okay okay, actors I adore. Channing Tatum, he's just a big hilarious thumb person who can play drama just as well as he does comedy and action, he has a doe eyed sincerity that I find immediately endearing and 22 Jump street is honestly one of my favorite comedies of all time.
Emily Blunt, maybe one of the most underrated and convincing action girls in Hollywood. Enough said.
Madds Mikelsen, he's just intense as all hell and brings that intensity to whatever dramatic work he's chosen to grace with his weird face. Valhalla Rising wouldn't have been the same movie with anyone else, he's a master of subtle emoting and has routinely portrayed very challenging characters.
Brad Pitt, somebody up above mentioned that Pitt is Similar to Robert Redford and I can totally see the comparison, Pitt is at his best when he's playing a slightly odd character who is nonetheless entirely too likable.
Honorable mention goes to Chris Pratt for being the new generation's Harrison Ford, I won't be surprised when his career trajectory continues to mirror Ford's. Still needs to learn to pick projects better though, Jurassic World was terrible and his character so unlikable it almost soured me on him as an actor, and I loved Andy Dwyer.

There's lots of others, but whenever I watch the things I remember these guys from, I'm always focussed on them. Armitage and McAvoy are good ones to follow, since they actually get pegged for projects, whilst the others so far haven't been so lucky, or like Day and Paul, have been in pretty lame fare.

Daniel Day-Lewis is my favorite actor of all time. I've seen just about all of his big films, and it is amazing to him go from Newland Archer in "The Age of Innocence" to Bill the Butcher in "Gangs of New York" and finally Abraham Lincoln in "Lincoln", all being period pieces which take place no more than a decade from one another.
I could honestly talk about "Lincoln" all day, but that performance moved me more than anything I'd seen since I was really young. His delivery goes so far beyond what comes out of his mouth. The way he moved as Abe was like an old, wooden giant, his appendages creaky and rigid, and everything about him felt labored. It was the most humanizing portrayal of the Great Emancipator I've ever seen, and it left me speechless.

I'm shocked to see myself be the only one to point to Christopher Lee. The man had an amazing voice for villain and had a personal life just as interesting as any role he played.
Lee was an acclaimed actor, WWII veteran, knew multiple langues, a direct descendant of a giant of history and a composer of music. If Lee was a fictional character we would deem him a Gary Sue.

Leonardo Dicaprio - One of the finest actors of his generation. When I first saw Blood Diamond I was blown away by his performance.

I follow a good rule of thumb...Paul Giamatti and/or Laura Linney make everything better. Even if the movie sucks, it will suck less because of one of them. Needless to say, I enjoyed John Adams very much. I also love Jennifer Lawrence, and not just because I find her so beautiful that my higher-order brain functions kind of shut down when I see her; she's an actress with surprising range. Also, Mark Ruffalo.
Oh, and Robert Downey, Jr., who I'm convinced should play both Aziraphale and Crowley when Good Omens is finally adapted into a movie.
