We all have an actor or actors we're sick of seeing. What are yours?

For me it'd have to be Johnny Depp. I really wish he would just go away for a while. I'm sick of all the worship he gets for playing the same goddamn eccentric character in just about every movie he's in for the last decade.

Johnny Depp used to be my favourite actor before Pirates of the Caribbean. And from all the great performances he's done, like Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, and Dean Corso, the Oscars nominate him for Jack Sparrow... Ugh.

OT: Leonardo di Caprio

He's in more and more movies despite having the acting range of a goat. Even Martin Scorsese cast him in three of his movies for some baffling reason. Leonardo di Caprio with his boyish yelps as Howard Hughes, are you serious?!

All the Scientologist actors. They should all go away and never come back.

Welp then, go home Hollywood. No more movies.

I'm having trouble thinking of anyone honestly.
There was a time when Gerrad Butler was EVERYWHERE and I was getting rather tired of seeing him. (This was long after 300)

My problem with Depp is more about how the directors make use of him. Every time he plays a supporting character the directors keep showing him into the spotlight, pushing the main character aside. Look at the Burton "Alice in wonderland". His character is not important at all to the central plot yet every thing still revolves around him.

As soon as I saw the thread title I thought of Johnny Depp. I never particularly liked him. The first time I saw him act in Pirates of the Caribbean, I thought some of his lines were funny, but that was about it. After seeing a couple of other films he acted in, it turned me off even more.

That said, I don't think he played the 'hilarious' eccentric in Sweeney Todd, but I still wasn't too keen on that film.

He was the first that came to mind when I read the thread title. There was a period after 300 where if Hollywood needed a male lead for a shitty romcom or over the top action flick, Butler was the guy to do it.

Really? I think Leonardo is a great actor. He's been brilliant in his latest movies, and he plays a variety of different characters very well. He especially impressed me in Django Unchained.

OT:
I'm getting tired of seeing Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise and Will Smith. Not particularly good actors, and Depp only seem to be able to play a single character.

I actually wish DiCaprio was in more movies. Very under-appreciated actor who is always willing to learn more and better himself. You don't find that humble trait too often nowadays.

This scene in particular really impressed me.

[small]Also, the bloodied hand was real. It's likely that Broomhilda's reaction to him wiping it on her was real as well, as it wasn't in the script[/small]

Tom Cruise. There are many movies I would like to see, if only they didn't have him in them. I just do not like him. He wore out his welcome more than ten years ago and Hollywood just needs to stop.

Captcha: Old hat. Too true.

Steve Blum. Great voice actor (I'm just going to count voice actors too), don't get me wrong, great voice... but he sounds the EXACT same all the time. Kills all immersion. Instead of 'hey, a new character' all I can think is 'oh... Steve Blum'. Get some more range, Steve!

He's got some decent range, it's just that recently all people want are GRIZZLY GRIZZLY ANGRY GRR.

Nolan North. I've never really liked any character he's voiced because they're all such colossal tools.

The fact that he keeps getting work when he only has one voice is equally annoying.

Grunt and Oghren sound distinct compared to Spike and Mugen. Most voice actors end up getting tight-cast and rarely deviate from their most prominent voice.

OT: I would agree with Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise. I am sick to death of them both.

Since Blum was already mentioned, I'll go with Jennifer Hale. Soooooooooo overused.

"Hmmm...Important female character. WAit. That voice soun...OH GREAT IT's HER AGAIN!"

I like chocolate cake, but I sure as fuck don't want to eat it all the time.

I can agree with OP when it comes to Deep.

Ya know who I can't stand? Ryan Reynolds. I think I may have liked him in days long past but as of X-Men Origins (possibly before) I just really couldn't stand to see him anymore. Ya know who should be used in his place? Jason Lee who I think is somewhat under-rated.

Also Catdog ruined Jim Cummings for me. He's an immensely talented guy sure but Catdog just completely ruined him for me.

Finally I would say "Megan Fox" but (insert joke about her not being able to act here).

I recently started watching Transformers Prime on Netflix and was dumbfounded when I realized that he voiced Starscream of all people and aced it. Yes, he definitely has range and I was actually disappointed when I finally got around to playing Fall of Cybertron and he wasn't voicing Starscream.

I feel the same way with some voice actors as well, namely Vic Mignogna and Johnny Yong Bosch. I can respect a good voice actor, especially when they're in a role that's well-suited for them, but these two in particular are frigging EVERYWHERE and they often resort to the same voice, so it's easy to pick them out. It's like, "Come on, try something else!" or "Give someone else a shot at that character type!"

dont really care about actors, but the English voice actors for anime should all be burned slowly. i swear theres only 3 people who voice act and one is for girls only. and that blonde guy whatever his damn name is, VOICE ACTS ANY CHARACTER THAT IS BLONDE! what is that? thats not choosing a characters voice! you chose the voice by how to works with the characters personality not by their hair freaking colour! God * head desk *

because of the terrible soulless English voice acting i refuse to watch any anime in English.

its not anime but the Last Air Bender had one of the best voice acting i have ever seen in a cartoon and i loved every second of that show because of it. also there was not a single main character who had a voice i recognized except for guest appearances for random characters in random cities. the dude who played robin in Teen Titan was 3 different characters in the Last Airbender and he sounded exactly the same each time, not even trying to change his voice. if you closed you're eyes you'd think you were watching Teen Titans. ughk, terrible

rant over
