After Batman vs. Superman Letdown, Warner Bros. Will Reportedly Release Fewer Films

I read the whole thing mind you but what confuses me is that do they mean less DC Films or less Warner Bros. Films in general?

But anyways my thoughts on this is well at least they are not rebooting it.

WB has been having a rough time lately, and unlike a lot of other studios, they don't have a back up business (It is, in fact, a side business itself). A good portion of their movies, not just BvS, under performed this year. So their scaling back production. I imagine they'll restructure and relook at their business and 'artistic' practices while their at it.

With any luck, they'll figure out how they fucked up BvS and sort their shit out.

Edit: Since I've gotten a few replies already from this, let me just say to not take this post too seriously. I'm not seriously asking if this will delay the Wonder Woman movie. It's more a joke about the continued lack of a Wonder Woman movie.

At the same time Mortal Kombat has been under fire lately because of how the game was reviewed and in addition to the Arkham Knight fiasco recently, they haven't exactly been in as good of a position as they were a few years ago.

I'm hoping the whole company gets a restructuring and we see better quality stuff from them because they do have a lot of talent there. Just a few bad eggs like David Goyer can fuck things up immeasurably.

No, it means they wont be producing as many, if any at all, 'home grown' movies.

Basically, they're switching focus almost entirely to franchises. Lego, DCCU, and Harry Potter.

EDIT: I was mistaken in my initial post. It seems like DCCU production might actually go faster, which is insane.

I don't know what's more disturbing. No one at Warner Bros ever actually watching BvS and just green lighting is 'cause whatever, dorks like Batman.
Or Execs at Warner Bros actually watching it and thinking 'Yeah, this movie totally hold up. Dorks will totally think its well written and hangs together as a narrative perfectly. Good job!'

In all seriousness, I'm actually not too surprised by this. My first thought when I found out just how bad Dawn of Justice was, was that even if they wanted to make changes to the DCEU, they're pretty stuck because they have four or five movies currently in different stages of production, dozens of actors contracted, and they've already released their long term release schedule. So they're stuck with what they're doing at the moment and any serious direction changes will be like a half a dozen movies down the line.
I love seeing the quote ?we?re not going to take a movie that?s supposed to be one thing and turn it into a copycat of something else? after the reports of spending tens of millions of dollars for Suicide Squad reshoots to give the film a more "fun" tone.

Honestly, since Legendary left WB, things have just been down hill. I use to like a lot of WB movies but who ever is in charge now, isn't thinking about the quality of the product they are selling, just the quantity and profit it makes. Yes, you have to think about profit but to gain a higher profit, your product needs to be good to attract more people. Get the right team in, work out a proper structure for what movie you want to distribute in the next 10-20 years and enough with the "yes man" and executives and shareholder who would rather think of the money but not cares about the actually product. All they see is numbers and figures. Know your audience and cater to them well.

So all in all, this would be an up for Warner Bros.

The thing is, if it's bad, we probably won't see a WW movie for a very long time.
