"Well if it comes down to it, the good captain seems to be prepared" he said indicating the machine guns on the sides of the ship.

"But, I think the worst that will happen would probably be a small raiding ship lead by some hot shot thinking he's the next king of pirates or something."

'Oh god yeah. Though some pirates arn't so bad. I remeber meeting one called Luffy. Nice guy, helped me take out some fish-men. He was looking for treasure. That was quite recent actualy, 'bout 4 months ago.'
He leaned on a wall.

The captain looked at the boy he and Joseph had been teasing earlier. "Nothing is small. Normally Barnacles are small and just stick to boats hulls, nothing bad, but you need to scrape them off every now and again. Now, we have things like those." He pointed to a strange tumor looking substance that had completely engulfed a beached ship. "The crew barely got away from that one. And then we have a Serpent in the region. We can only pray we don't run into that beasty."

The captain looked over at Joseph and gave him a brief smile. "Get the others on board and we can ship out. The sooner we get to the island, the sooner I can get drunk." The two men let out a laugh and walked in separate directions, the captain inspecting his crew and weapons and Joseph helping the others onto the boat.

"Say, what's a serpent? I understand the word, but I have never heard of ones that live in water." Lilith asked the captain, with a slightly scared tone to her voice. She did not like the thought of huge water-living beasts. Especially not snake formed beasts. She hated snakes, and in water her powers would do her no good.

"Well, a Serpent is basically a giant worm with hundreds of thousands of teeth. Their carnivorous and nearly invincible, but you can scare them off with heavy fire. But if you see more than one, you're fucked." The captain blushed slightly, having just swore in front of a little girl. "Sorry, lass, didn't mean to say that. But it still stands, child, we have worms the likes of which God has never seen, so be careful out on this sea. I've got to get to work now, go back to talk with your boyfriend over there and stay put until we get to the island." With the the captain walked off, making sure the all of the guns had the proper incendiary ammo and that Joseph had enough shotgun shells.

'It's ok Lilith he's just doing it for a laugh. Don't listen to him.'

"Yeah and lying is going to make everything better, you think all the gunners would be armed to the teeth with incendiarys if he was lying?" he said smacking his forehead with his palm. "I dont mean to scare you, because I doubt we will find one but they most likely are out there." he said to Lilith

'He's am old sea dog! They always tell legends! If he ever saw one it would be when he was drunk! Those things are probably for sea raiders!'

"Hey, don't mock the captain of the only boat that will take us to this island. And he's not lying. There really is a Serpent out here, and they really do look like that. I've known the captain for years, and he's not one for telling tails to scare little girls." Joseph turned to face Mules. "And another thing, when did you become Lilith's protector? She can handle herself just fine. Hell, she could probably kick your ass." He turned to face the others still not on the boat. "Come on, hurry the hell up! We've got a deadline!"

Malues was speechless.

"...Just give me a moment to memorize that face..." Germain said with a massive grin. "Priceless"

But he is right, Malues is awfully protective of her but she obviousley dosent need it. He thought to himself Could it be some sort of one way desire? God I hope not, thats just weird, but I wouldnt put it past him

"Fine then, just don't try and get down her pants until we don't have to worry about giant worms." Joseph joked before walking to the dock and forcing the others onto the boat. He jumped up onto a crate. "Okay, let's get going. Captain, I want someone on all the machine guns the entire trip, and I want you to stay off the whiskey until we get to the island. Lilith, you're with me on Serpent watch. We're gonna need all the fire we have. Everyone else, get ready for pirates and raiders." With that Joseph jumped down and took out his shotgun, making sure he had four buck shot round sin the chambers. "Incendia Offa." Fire leaped from the barrel of Joseph's shotgun, then calmed down and settled.

'What do you want me to do?'
He said barely keeping his cool.

 

[Zirat]

"You heard the man, relax, we just have to be ready in case any pirates come in" Germain said as he sat down and pulled out a glass ball the size of an apple and started to pass it from hand to hand.

"Get your gun and look out for any boats without a flag. Tell the captain and he'll decide whether or not it's a pirate." Joseph said in response to Mules. "And we can't relax, not until we get to the island." He said to Germain.

 

[Fallen-Angel Risen-Demon]

Malues ran up to Germain and caught the glass ball in midair.
'Thank you very much!'
He then ran off into the control room.

"Alright, Joseph. Can I call you Joseph?" she said with what was attempted to be a charmful smile.

She wasn't sure how to deal with all the attention she was getting at the moment, but she knew she didn't entirely dislike it. And even though Maelous was still a moron, he was trying really hard to get on her good side. She couldn't help starting to like him a little, and thinking about the reasons for the obvious rivalry between him and Germain.....No, I'm sure they are both nice men with no such things in mind.

"Oh you prick!" he said as he chased Malues off to the control room. "Allright now, give that back and I wont have to beat your head in with another bottle, youve backed yourself into a corner so whats it gonna be?"
