For no reason? Sounds like the mom had her go on the pill for a pretty good reason, good thing too.

Don't never drink again, anything is bad if you overdo it, hell, vitamins can even kill, but if you keep a level head, you can enjoy things like alcohol responsibly.

There's a giant hole in your story.
She was drunk, and it was her friend.
That kind of leads me to believe that she was hammered and had sex with him, because I've heard of that before. If not, well, that sucks.
This. Sometime people act stangely when they are drunk, like they'll have a huge problem with something when they are drunk but once sobnriety sets in they don't really mind.... and vise versa. I also never understood if 2 people consent to have sex under the influence, why is it always made to look like one raped the other?

However her age is what makes this a very disturbing thing, 16 yr olds shouldn't be out doing that kind of thing in the first place.

Oh here's a random vent thread.

My night, as in last night.

One of my best friends goes to a kegger even though I beg her not to, and totally gets hammered. She wont text back or pick up her cell.

During this, I am basically worried out of my mind, going insane because I know its just a bunch of younger girls (she was maybe the only 16 year old there, rest were 13-15) and guys that are 17+. Yeah, you do that math.

Around midnight, when the ball dropped in New York, my parents pop open a cheap bottle of some unidentifiable crap. They hand me a shot and I think, "what the hell, it might ease my nerves" and toss it back in one gulp. First drink in my life.

Around 2AM, I get a text, a little buzzed because I think the stuff was probably 99% alcohol, and shes wandering around town, tipsy. A small, but big town, cops out, and I'm dead tired and buzzed, I cant go look for her without getting picked up. I worry more, and being buzzed already, swig half the bottle (maybe the equivalent of a can of soda for reference)

All I know is I was awake all night, net history tells me so. I get a text at 630AM from her, crying. Saying I was right about that party. By now I'm clear headed and surprisingly not hung over. She was raped. By an older drunk guy. Oral and she thinks maybe vaginal. Didn't wear a condom.

Now, shes been basically fine, either shock hasn't set in or she doesn't care too much (on the pill, her mom made her go on it for no reason), but I think its because the beer obscured the memory.

Somehow... somehow I think I won't ever drink again. I don't think she will either, because the final twist she told me was that her rapist was supposed to be a friend.

EDIT:: DETAILS::

-She was out of town (next one over, unfamiliar, 3 miles away basically from my house, 6 to hers), I was in town.
-Parents dont care too much about what she does.
-Parents dont care about HER for that matter.
-I wouldnt know where the party was, she got pissed when I tried to talk her out of going.
-No clue how she got back home, on either end, she was a town over.
-My details might not make sense because I was pretty fucked up too.

DOUBLE EDIT::

For those saying its regret rather than rape, she wandered around town and walked home 6 miles by herself. Wouldn't she be with PEOPLE if it was consentual? I have a feeling she was taken advantage of and then tossed out in the cold. Right?
Alright, you obviously care for her so be by her side and help her through this. My sister took a few days before the shock finally set in and she was hysterical, she had killed herself a few days later because I had did nothing. Do NOT let that happen. Do whatever you need to, probe her for questions while she is not saddened and make sure it wasnt just one of those get drunk and fuck things.

Tell her parents and tell your parents. Also call the police, if she was raped you need to report that. Do not let her get depressed. Cheer her up as much as possible. That is all the advice I can give you. Good luck, and I am sorry for the event.
Jesus! she killed herself? Uh, I don't know what to say, that sucks.

I am sure you've heard this a million times before, but it definitely is not your fault, not even indirectly through inaction, she didn't kill herself because of your inaction, as stupidly obvious as this is to point out, she killed herself over depression over being raped, and nothing else.

Also, a point to some of the people posting, even when a 16 year old girl gives consent, if she is drunk out of her mind and 16, its not consent, legally or morally, hell, even if she gives consent soberly, its still legally (and maybe morally) rape.

I don't know if you should probe her like this guy says, that might remind her too much of it. But one thing is for sure, if she gets a big mood swing or gets really quiet in the next few days, you should definitely call the police, you actually should talk to the police right now, she might be pissed, but its the right thing to do.

If she was a 20 year old, I would agree.

At sixteen, having sex with this incredibly drunk girl that may or may not have given consent is ridiculously stupid, and obviously rape.

Even if its not what you personally consider rape.

If a sixteen year old girl claims rape after having sex, its rape, even if its not really rape.

Don't have sex with anyone under 18 idiots, it's legally rape.

Also, drunk consent at age 16 is worth nothing, actually, its probably worth less than nothing. If you have sex with a 16 year old stoned drunk girl, expect her to claim rape, as she probably should. Also, even if she claims it was consensual it doesn't matter, having sex with someone under 18 is automatically a form of rape. (legally, and in my opinion, ethically and morally)

That's sad. Maybe the problem was her being alone and too drunk in such a shady place.

Nothing wrong with alcohol, if you know how to use it.

I was refering as to when people are on even grounds. If two 16 year olds get drunk and screw, under consent, why does it end up being the fault of only one party?? They are both egually responsible. Also in some states it's legal for a 16 year old to have sex with someone up to the age of 18, and at 17 you can go up to 19. Again, it has to be consentual. He never stated how old they guy was either, and his story has alot missing from it.

I find this law a little bit tough on the guys. I mean when your pissed drunk and getting into bed with a girl, do you ask her age? No. A lot of 16 year old girls look older.

Not going to enter the discussion about consent and alcohol, if it is rape get a doctor to proscribe some propanolol stat, it's a pretty standard beta blocker used for high blood pressure, but it's recently been found to work with adrenaline to prevent PTSD in the months after an event.

It doesn't erase memory's as some people like to state, it reduces the emotional connection with the memory and certain acts. For example a women whose been raped by an assailant might freak out during sex with her husband, but with the drug it prevents that emotional connection.
