Ever heard of date rape? Its still rape and its still illegal.

Also, drunk consent at age 16 is worth nothing, actually, its probably worth less than nothing. If you have sex with a 16 year old stoned drunk girl, expect her to claim rape, as she probably should. Also, even if she claims it was consensual it doesn't matter, having sex with someone under 18 is automatically a form of rape. (legally, and in my opinion, ethically and morally)

I find this law a little bit tough on the guys. I mean when your pissed drunk and getting into bed with a girl, do you ask her age? No. A lot of 16 year old girls look older.

Hmm, a law that stops you from getting pissed drunk and get into bed with a girl who looks like she might be under 18 while too drunk to tell real consent from heavy hesitation.

Not going to enter the discussion about consent and alcohol, if it is rape get a doctor to proscribe some propanolol stat, it's a pretty standard beta blocker used for high blood pressure, but it's recently been found to work with adrenaline to prevent PTSD in the months after an event.

It doesn't erase memory's as some people like to state, it reduces the emotional connection with the memory and certain acts. For example a women whose been raped by an assailant might freak out during sex with her husband, but with the drug it prevents that emotional connection.

Op, get her all the support possible, get her some councilling and be as supportive as possible with her. You might want to see if there where any witnesses at that party, and from that decide if the police should be informed.

Quite a few people here seem to be saying that she is partially responsable because she was a drunk. I lean towards this opinion, if she was drunk anything could have happend, she could have been flirting with him, he could have interprited this as meaning she wants sex with him. Thats why it is worth checking if there are witnesses. However, at a drunken party, you would be lucky if you find any reliable witnesses, still its worth a check.

Yes, 16 is the age of consent here in the Englandland, though if the OP is American and in one of the states with 18 as the age, us foreign rapscallions must interpret it through their laws.

Well, I try not to drink, if possible. Only a sip or two when I'm socially required. Hell, I've never even been "buzzed". Of course, I'm still underage, but that definitely doesn't stop my friends from drinking themselves into liver failure.

That sucks about your friend, "parties" these days only get more and more disturbing. I've heard of my female friends (17) making out with 23 year-olds.

nail on the head my friend, girl gets wasted out of her league and makes a mistake but doesnt want to admit the mistake on her part, so claims abuse, happens very often but noone will call them on thier bluff as its too sensitive a case

Jesus Christ!!! That was the most horrid thing i've heard. Poor kid. Yeah ok so she shouldn't have got smashed but that doesn't mean to say she should get raped. My mate and her brother (my ex) almost got into a bottle fight with a pissed guy the other night. Alcohol sucks if not taken correctly. I hate watching dickheads wandering around towns shouting abuse, staggering and being totally weird. Its fine if your safe in your own house or have a few adults who are willing to stay with you and keep you from harm.
I'm not an alcoholic type of girl. My mum and auntie are alcoholics and i've seen the damage it does. Like i said i also hate the drunk effect it gives you.

Thank you. There are a lot of holes in the story above, but sometimes those are just born out of confusion and frustration. I however do see where the OP never answered why he didn't go to the party himself. I am also interest to know what kind of treatment she is going for. She is going to need to see a doctor after all.

This is like saying the girl got rapped cause she tempted the rapist by wearing a short skirt. What are we in 1950's America now? No it was not the most intelligent thing to do, but she is 16 you are not supposed to do the most intelligent things. Hell I am 27 and I still don't always do the most intelligent things, and I happen to be far from stupid. A thrashing, a hangover, maybe falling down drunk, those are things you should expect to get and learn from. Not raped.
