I don't know how to feel about Nintendo these days, to be honest.
I'm looking forward to Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pikmin 3, but almost none of the other games interest me. I despise things that rely on gimmicks, and them occasionally slapping me in the face (Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks/Skyward Sword for Zelda, what Sticker Star was as opposed to what I hoped it to be) really isn't pleasant.
But with that said, I don't hate them. To put an analogy to my experience with Nintendo, I was a child that grew up in a happy household. Every experience was magical, and I could look forward to the next experience being even more awesome. Hell, maybe even a trip to Disney Land. But then there came a point where a younger sibling came into existence (the next generation of players) and me and Papa/Mama Nintendo kind of drifted apart. They focused on giving the kid brother/sister all the fun experiences of life and said I could join in if I wanted. But being the cool dude that I am, I went to the things that best represented my maturity/philosophy and moved out into the PC gaming apartment. I might on occasion visit the Nintendo household, but I'll starkly refuse to play with any of the toys there lest they actually be cool.
...And that's the best way to put it, really.
I've gone from NES carts to Wii discs and it just so happens that I'm no longer in the target audience for a majority of their products anymore. I do like their enthusiasm and efforts to find more unique ways to have fun. Something that they've always done, but are currently heading down a direction that I don't really care for.
