I don't hate Nintendo, I always take my DS Lite to work so I have something to play, and the moment they bring out a Phoenix Wright game for the Nintendo 3DS I would pick up the game and the console like a shot. I didn't get the Wii because there were no games that really interested me.

I dont hate Nintendo. They just dont make anything Im interested in anymore. Mario as a franchise is the same as its been in the NES days so why would I buy that when I can just play Super mario 3 for my platformer?

Metroid lost my interest after Metroid prime, which I did like but it just got more and more boring as it was less about Samus being a bountry hunter and more about go to a planet where space pirates have a base and uncover ancient Chozo artifacts.

Then theres Zelda which used to be my favorite franchise. I gave up on that when it stopped being a direct sequel and instead tried to rewrite the franchise with Orcarina of time. It only got worse as each successive Zelda game was just a new adventure with the same characters and no continuity. Then several years ago nintendo came out and said there wasnt a timeline, they were just making games with similar characters only to backpedal not that long ago with a laughable timeline that contradicts itself

Smash bros got amazingly old with Brawl (not to mention the small characters made the game near unplayable at times).

Maybe, maybe if they had a good pikmin game I would be interested in the Wii U but the only real game I would play on it is monster hunter but to be quite honest buying a system for 1 game is IMO a huge waste of money so Im not going to do that (not to mention Raiderz gives me a nice Monster hunter feel and its on my preffered platform, the PC). So I really dont see why I would want a Wii U, just as Im still pretty unsatisfied about my Wii

However there is one reason why I like the Nintendo of today. Its competition in the industry. Competition can only help the industry in the long run so Im glad they exist, they just dont have anything I want to buy or feel is worthwhile.

I'm starting to have the same feelings for Nintendo that I have for Suda51: I like them personally, I just can't get into their games.
Occasionally Nintendo does have a release that I do really like, it just doesn't happen very often. And to be fair, I am picky in general; in this past generation, as platform developers, Sony & MS have disappointed me more to tell you the truth. I think Nintendo really squeezed all they could out of the Wii and gave it some really good functions for what it is; I still think it's weird they didn't let you watch dvds on it but whatever. Sony and MS seemed to prefer to sandbag their machines with either shitty firmware or shitty hardware respectively.

Apart from Legend of Zelda, Metroid, I have no interest in anything that's Nintendo Exclusive. And I hated Metroid Prime: Corruption because of the motion controls.

Needless to say, I won't be buying a WiiU, because it doesn't interest me. If I wanted a tablet, I would by a tablet.

I like Nintendo games, and it annoys me when people (especially the escapist reporters) come out with completely false slander about Nintendo and the Wii U. I don't care if they're talking about mistakes that the company actually makes, because they do make them, but don't slander a company just because you don't like it.
Best example is the day the new pokemon game was announced. It took the escapist 6 hours to post that after the announcement but when the news hit the web that the new castlevania was not on the wii U it was posted within half an hour.

As for some people here saying there is no nintendo hate on this forum. They can explain to me why my ignore list os full of people that bash nintendo and the users any time they can but then i guess the do not be a jerk rule doesn't count when it is against people that like nintendo

I don't know how to feel about Nintendo these days, to be honest.
I'm looking forward to Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pikmin 3, but almost none of the other games interest me. I despise things that rely on gimmicks, and them occasionally slapping me in the face (Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks/Skyward Sword for Zelda, what Sticker Star was as opposed to what I hoped it to be) really isn't pleasant.

But with that said, I don't hate them. To put an analogy to my experience with Nintendo, I was a child that grew up in a happy household. Every experience was magical, and I could look forward to the next experience being even more awesome. Hell, maybe even a trip to Disney Land. But then there came a point where a younger sibling came into existence (the next generation of players) and me and Papa/Mama Nintendo kind of drifted apart. They focused on giving the kid brother/sister all the fun experiences of life and said I could join in if I wanted. But being the cool dude that I am, I went to the things that best represented my maturity/philosophy and moved out into the PC gaming apartment. I might on occasion visit the Nintendo household, but I'll starkly refuse to play with any of the toys there lest they actually be cool.

...And that's the best way to put it, really.
I've gone from NES carts to Wii discs and it just so happens that I'm no longer in the target audience for a majority of their products anymore. I do like their enthusiasm and efforts to find more unique ways to have fun. Something that they've always done, but are currently heading down a direction that I don't really care for.

I still don't understand why there are people here who insist that Nintendo doesn't innovate. That they keep doing the same thing over and over again. Well, if you don't like them, could you at least refrain from embarrassing yourself? Nintendo still innovates more than Valve.

Perhaps they're thinking of the New Super Mario Bros. titles, which are supposed to be emulating old games, anyway. Perhaps they think of how Mario, Pokémon, and Metroid use similar story structures to this day, even though they keep twisting them in new ways and introducing entirely new gameplay mechanics. And no, the Zelda series does not focus every story on Zelda gets kidnapped; Link saves her. Before Skyward Sword, when was the last time they actually made that the focus of the story in a mainstream title? 1987?

Do they think Nintendo has always been all kiddie-kiddie and easy? These people have short attention spans. Nintendo admitted that what they did with the Wii was a huge mistake. They're focusing much more on mature games, like Beyonetta 2 and that new FPS that Shiguru Miyamoto wants to make. Not to mention that sequels to Eternal Darkness and Conker are expected from them.

If you want a good example of how Nintendo "always does the same thing and never innovates", compare 2002's Wind Waker with 2006's Twilight Princess. It's like comparing Spongebob Squarepants to Batman, but in the same series.

I've always been a fan of there portable stuff more so than there home consoles. As much as there were great games for their most recent console entries they are few and far between. Though there are plenty of rock solid 1st party games there are far fewer games that truly wow me. As much I don't believe that technical aspects are everything, I just can't justify investing in ancient tech now that I have gotten back into PC later in 2011.

The only thing I really buy for my xbox anymore is Halo and only because I can't get them anywhere else. Pretty much any 3rd party release I have wanted I have picked up on PC.

Paper Mario: Sticker star was different, yes, but that doesn't make it a bad game. The writing, as always, was enjoyable, and the gameplay, though simplified, was still very enjoyable, and much more well-suited for the portable 3DS as opposed to the more in-depth console titles.
Honestly, I cannot get into paper mario: sticker star. I have to agree with yahtzee on this point: sticker star seems way to boring to be a paper mario game. That said, I haven't played all the way through, so there could be good parts.

OT: Nintendo will always have Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and the mario RPGs, not to mention the best handhelds, so I'm still sticking with them.

Not owned a Nintendo console since the N64, my roommate pulled his out the other day and I've nearly had a stroke playing Mario Kart. It's so rigged on 150cc its untrue. That said my mum owns a wii and I bought No More Heroes and Twilight Princess and had fun. On the whole I still like Nintendo but feel like they're coasting too much these days.

OP: No, you are not the only one. YOU ARE NEVER THE ONLY ONE!

You are never the only one. I'm annoyed that the 3DS is region locked but otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with mine and can't wait for Pokemon X/Y. As for the Wii U, I've been playing with that more than any of my other consoles at the moment. I can't wait for some more release dates but in the meantime I have a lot of Nintendo goodness to keep me satisfied. Although I really wish Nintendo would just release a Mother anthology to the west. At least give us Earthbound on the Virtual Console or e-Shop.

And you obviously arent a REAL fan if you dont also own a DS, 3DS, Virtualboy, and a WiiU! ~.^
I own all of those! I'm also dead serious when I saw Teleroboxer needs to be remade and re-released on the 3DS. First-person, robot boxing?! Sign me up right-stat-now!

Admittedly, it took me a LONG while to look kindly on the Wii. Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong, NSMB...these are all of the reasons I've seen that justify my time with the Wii. Skyward Sword on the other hand...let me put it to you this way: I thought the gameplay of Skyward Sword was less functional than that of Other M (another game I've enjoyed).

Now then, I only just got Xenoblade Chronicles so it's about time for my mind to be blown

I've pretty much given up on Nintendo consoles as they seem to be too interested in milking gimmicks than making great games anymore. However, I absolutely love the DS and the 3DS and yes its true that they also are based around the dual screen and 3D gimmicks, the difference is that these do not get in the way of convenience or simply enjoying the game. The dual screens and touch screen of the DS feels natural and works well, while the 3D can just be turned off and is not required to play games. A lot of Wii games on the other hand were ruined by forcing the player to use frustratingly imperfect motion controls.

On the whole I still love Nintendo, but I'm going to stick to their handhelds as well as PC gaming.
