You're on the Internet.
You're NEVER the only one, on any subject
SHUT THE FUCK UP!!
we have all established that "am I the only one?" is a bad choice of words but its just a quick way of saying it and saying "who else thinks" is just inviting fanboys
to be honest the only bad things about "am I the only one?" threads are the tons of fuckskulls who think they need to mention it after about 40 comments of it already
its just a figure of speech, shut up
Whoa. Easy, man.
I'm sorry if you've gotten a ton of those responses already, but there's no need to get hostile over it- meant no scorn or even patronage.
You're here to, basically, talk about the flaws of Halo: Reach that didn't live up to your expectations from the series, and that's great- good to discuss the tropes and the things we'd like to see less of, good to get those things out there and known so we can try to see things change, for the better when we think they're starting to stagnate.
My own opinion, is that Halo hasn't really changed their Campaign since the first game, definitely sticking to what they know works.
At the same time, though, you have to admit that rhetorical questions like 'am I the
only one ____' also get rhetorical answers. Sometimes the majority of said answers will be like that- and so, in the same way that you want to talk about the things that are stagnate and repetitious (or cloned, as you put it) in something like the Halo series- so too would I like to talk about the repetitious nature of the way that criticism is presented to others. Quality discussion and criticism tries to get a hint of originality and something to bring the person in and think about, and then reply- instead of the same answer to question's they've heard before, presented in a way that's not new at all. Which I am guilty of.
Don't tell those that respond (no matter what they say) to 'shut the fuck up' though. It will only further make someone not want to take whatever you have to say seriously. A lot of people have the same view as you, and like to discuss those things, even if there isn't much controversy or disagreement. If it really bothers you that much to hear something over and over, though, pay it no mind and move on to those that you think you can discuss with- don't escalate things to an air of hostility, though- which again, I'm sorry if you thought I was being scornful or anything.
