Am i the only one who cares that New Vegas looks EXACTLY like Fallout 3?

Seriously, i haven't heard any previewer say that he or she thinks it looks exactly like Fallout 3. All it gives you is some new weapons and locations. You could do that in a dlc and get the exact same result! [See The Pit and Point Lookout].

And it doesn't look like they have upgraded the graphics in any way. ANY. I got pissed of when pc gamer described most of the map would be like F3, just with a blue sky. That pissed me off.

You can yell at me all you want, and guess more of what is good is good i suppose, but you know Yahtzee is going to rip on what ive said for about 2 minutes of his episode.

Are you forgetting that other game mode where you need to eat and drink, and ammo acctualy weighs something?

and the faction system, and the new weapons and armour, (which are in vast majority over F3) the Currency system, the new Map as big as DC, and new enemies and new characters to talk to?

I'm sorry but i don't think I've seen DLC with hat much content in my life...maybe someone should read about the game, then make a statement like that.

Kotor and Kotor 2 look exactly the same, yet they are loved by many because they have different content, i admit Kotor 2 is a sequel so they couldn't change much, but that is beside the point, im glad it looks the same, means Obsidian doesn't want to change what is already a pretty good engine...

Did people complain halo 2 should just have been a halo 1 expansion? No they didnt because its a completely new fucking game just like this is.

One tiny point: Halo 2 didn't look exactly like Halo 1. This is not the case here.

Fine we will use halo 2 and 3 because they did look alot alike. Same could be said of gears 1,2, and soon to be 3. Oh and same with Gow 1&2, the last 2 ratchet & clank games, etc. The list goes on of games where the sequal looked the exact same but it had a new/continued story, improved gameplay, changed the rep system, added dozens of new improvements small and large. Its not the same game, infact its looking to be both very familiar and very different.


Its all the same shit anyway people are complaining that it should just be an expansion simply because it uses the same engine and has similar graphics. The game could otherwise be 100% different and they would still make stupid baseless complaints.

I'm not claiming that they are the same. In fact, I am really anticipating the NV ADS ability. That looks like it will make FO a whole heck of a lot better.

Well graphics weren't exactly that weak in FO3, and as Yahtzee's said, graphics can't get much better. And the feel from the trailers is a more colorful world. Watch Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus for how colors set the mood of something.

And why is a similar feel to a good game a bad thing? It's a new location, but same kind of situation, bombs fucked shit up, whether in D.C. or Vegas it's still a same feel, just more color in Vegas than in D.C.

And doesn't MW2 play a lot and look a lot like CoD4? Aren't there plenty of games that look the same as their predecessor? Doesn't make a game less fun.

When did we all become graphics whores? People were more satisfied with a good storyline and controls back when everything was 8bit and a side scroller. Jeez. It's kind of sad that now we have to rate how well the game looks. I'm all for aesthetics, but don't like that be such a key factor in a game. And what happened if they changed the engine? People would probably start complaining that it doesn't have that "Fallout" feel.

To be honest, you're never going to make people happy. I think people have the right to complain/***** after they've played it. Until then, your OP seems quite moot.

Agree with everything up to the edit... kinda. I wouldn't say the Fallout 3 graphics were shitty. The animation wasn't too good, especially in third person. But I thought the game's textures were pretty dosh garn... wait, gosh darn good. I wouldn't say that the bad animation ruined the immersion either.

Besides, New Vegas is being done by Obsidian so they might change the animation and the textures around a bit so it's better.

I think if people seriously are gonna judge it before they try it because of the graphics are the same, then your seriously and idiot. Atleast rent it or something. They're supposable doing alot with the combat and areas and quest. Im not 100% excited about it, but im not gonna be like "BAD GRAPHICS! ME MAD! ME NO TRY GAME! GRUNT!" graphics dont make a game, story and gameplay do. Ive been able to go back and play my old KOTOR games and such and feel just fine even though the graphics are worth of the orginal Sims.

- it looks the same
- it feels the same as fallout 3

the story is completely different for a start your not coming out from a vault -__- if you want to say its the same but the same can be said about call of duty ...or any other repetitive game that has a number in front of it..

You gotta realize its gonna be hard for games graphics to get much better these days, stop complinaing about something that already looks great, and enjoy the new content and new story.

Bioschok 2 used the same engine as the first, along with World at war and alot others.

Mass effect 3 will be using the same engine as the second one jsut a bit polished, but does that mean its gonna be a terrible game?

Well, I heard that Obsidian has great writing and that they never finish their games thanks to Evil Corporate People. But it's set in the desert, so it simply must be better than Fallout 3.

It is the same game -_- its just a full priced expansion that has its own plot line, new stuff, and a new city with a few more fetures, sure fallout 3 was fun and i played it a crapload but for a so called sequil to look the same, from what ive seen even play the same just meh ive gotten bored of that hence why i stopped playin fallout 3 and im still iffy on if i will even touch a legit copy of the next
