Am I the ONLY one who has never heard of Twisted Metal before?

I believe I may have once watched someone play it on a PSP, but when I first saw it at E3, I had no idea what they were talking about.

You are not alone, comrade!

I remember playing it years ago at a friend's house and being drawn to the creepy clown character with a head that was on fire and the fact it was a violent racing/shooting game made it appealing as an impressionable child.

To be honest I saw the E3 gameplay and thought it looked a bit rubbish really.

You are never the only one.

I've played them, and remember really enjoying them when I was smaller. Haven't played them in years though.

No. You are not. Definitely not. I mean while I love the entire series (like the whole series for eternity and ever and ever and ever...it is the one thing I'm going to be fan boyish about) I was pretty much the only one in my group of friends who knew about it. And since this is the first I've heard of it: A NEW TWISTED METAL!?!?!?! THIS IS GOING TO BE FUCKING (PARDON MY SWEARING) AWESOME!

Twisted Metal.
Ah, the memories...

Destroying an entire city, psychotic clowns with blazing fires on their heads, a transforming ice cream truck that turns into a towering mech, the horrible news that 5 or 6 people from the development teams had been killed in a plane crash. Ah, the memories.

"Twisted metal: World tour" was my favourite game on the playstation, I can't beleive so many people haven't heard of the franchise.

Sweet Tooth?...the killer clown in the ice cream truck?...you really don't know?!
GAH!

I remember the first game had this awesome cockpit view, which they took out of the other games, well to my knowledge any way, I never played "Twisted Metal: Black".

Got to love a game where you blow up famous landmarks and discover secret treats hidden underneath.

I have never owned a PS, but my friend and I have great memories playing twisted metal on his original PS. Good times. Quite excited for this release.

I played it on a friend's PS as a kid (N64 guy myself). It was alright, but I seem to remember it not quite being quirky enough for me to enjoy the actual racing bits of the game; I had no idea it had such an apparently large fanbase, though.

Some of you guys are too young to have heard of it I guess. Twisted Metal was the shit back in the days of good old PS1. My favorite was always Twisted Metal 2. The game was awesome on adrenaline.

As far as I'm concerned, Twisted Metal 2 was the only one that was remotely worthwhile. They just kept messing up so badly after that one

I own all of the Twisted Metal games, even the shit ones.

They're in my bureau gathering dust. When I saw this I came. Just a little.

Twisted Metal was my childhood, and I'm looking forward to the new one.
