My sister has been playing it non-stop for the past few days and the only complaint she's had is a couple of the characters and as interesting as those in the last game.
Well, Killzone 3 came out, but you'll never find a positive thread about it. I don't get the hate for that series.ZombieGenesis said:Christ sake, why is it every time I refresh these forums there's ANOTHER thread about DAII?
It's not even that important a game.
Did just nothing else come out this last few weeks?
yeah i think thats one of the main things i like aswell, in origins you are the chosen one, and were supposed to feel like it was a race to stop the blight, yet you had time to run around doing errands for randomers which didnt make sense. in DA2 you're just some guy, whose been left with nothing, so doing loads of quests for people is how you rebuild your life.. at least until act 2 where you're rich, and then you're doing quests for the giggles/more moneyDaJoW said:In many ways I prefer it to Origins, already finished it once as a mage and started my second playthrough as a melee rogue earlier today. Origins was an excellent game to introduce the world, but I prefer this style of story. "Only you can save the world/land/universe!" has been done to death.
Wait, seriously?RedEyesBlackGamer said:EVERY character is bisexual, so you can go FemHawke and still do the girls' romances. Merrill's is the best character arc and romance I've come across in a Bioware game.
Same here. This game pleasantly surprised me. I love the companions, combat, and the humor, but the dialogue wheel is an unwelcome intrusion. At least there isn't a BS good/bad meter to go with it this time around.Xzi said:I've enjoyed it so far. The conversation wheel has been the only real negative for me. Everything else is flowing nicely.
as for KZ, i think the single player is alot of wasted potential with really poor characters and a short and boring story, though i like the multiplayer (more than i can say for cod)Soviet Heavy said:Well, Killzone 3 came out, but you'll never find a positive thread about it. I am enjoying Dragon Age 2, but I am severely annoyed by the pop out of nowhere enemies, and the copy pasted dungeons.
Play in DX 9 mode. Every time I even tried to boot it up in DX11 mode it crashed on the loading screen, and that's after I downloaded the patch. Kind of sucks since it's holding back my hardware a bit, but it's still playable (and I wouldn't complain about graphics or framerate, either)Giest4life said:Oh, I pre-ordered at 3 months ago, but if only I could play it. Not that there is any problem with my hardware, it's just Nvidia users * DX11 = complete fuck up of the framerate. They realeased a Hi-Texture patch that fixed the rendering issues, but the framerate is so low that I really can't stomach it--especially when I paid 59.99 for it.
Thank you for summing up all hardcore PC gamers and yes, they really have no clue what a good and a bad game is. They just give a bad rap for other PC gamers, such as myself, that are just looking for a good time and could care less if a sequel has had something taken away.Elamdri said:It's a fine game, I'm enjoying it. Frankly gamers are typically unhappy unless they have something to moan and whine about, and most of them are too privileged to have ever played a truly bad game.
It is... different.Skizle said:... but the one thing I have yet to hear about is the story. No one has said if its good or bad or even mediocre.
Dual wielding rogues are great against single targets, and for helping out other party members who are in tight spots.Blind Sight said:..can anyone tell me if the rogue is as underpowered in the full game as he is in the demo?
personally i've quite enj-.... i was going to say i've enjoyed it... but i just realised so far there hasnt actually been much of a story... there's been interesting events and characters so far throughout the game... but i've yet to actually know what the end result/goal is.Skizle said:Thank you for summing up all hardcore PC gamers and yes, they really have no clue what a good and a bad game is. OT: haven't played it yet, but the one thing I have yet to hear about is the story. No one has said if its good or bad or even mediocre.
Put it this way, If I had the power, I would make it a law that you have to play Superman 64 before you are allowed to weigh in on how good or bad a game is.Skizle said:Thank you for summing up all hardcore PC gamers and yes, they really have no clue what a good and a bad game is. exactly....especially funny are those people that seem to rant about anything that is popular in any way to show off how they "don't run with the masses" and "have their own independent opinion" what's funny about is that while they don't run with the masses they just run the opposite way and formed their opinion according to other people's view just like the "i like it because XY said it's awesome" people ;PElamdri said:Frankly gamers are typically unhappy unless they have something to moan and whine about, and most of them are too privileged to have ever played a truly bad game.
Look, it's the first really big Release of the year. Don't worry, Duke Nukem, Crysis 2, Gears 3 and a slew of other stuff is coming in a few weeks and then there will be 120000 topics about those.Zhukov said:Y'know what this forum needs?
Another Dragon Age II thread.
Seriously though, I'm 23 hours in an loving it. It's not perfect, but I'm having trouble seeing what all the whining is about.
Story was OK. The pacing is a bit off. In Act 1 you have to do about 25 side quests in a row before you can move on, and in Act 2 the actual main plot takes it's sweet time developing. It sorta seems like there's a tiny bit of foreshadowing, but at least to me it really jumped out of nowhere in Act 3. I wish it had a more gradual build up, instead of nothing happening for 20 hours and then a crazy Act 3.Skizle said:OT: haven't played it yet, but the one thing I have yet to hear about is the story.
