Am I the Only Person who Hates Edward Cullen?

Personally I read the Twilight series and enjoyed it. Edward was an interesting character who I thought was well thought out and believable within the realm of the story. Jacob Black was the one character I hated of all the mains in the storyline.

As for the people saying Harry Potter is better than this, I disagree. I can't stand the Harry Potter series, but this series was pretty good. I have never understood the hype Harry Potter got.

I am, however, not liking the point that he doesn't rape/kill her, and the fact that the vampires are able to go outside in the sunlight... I liked the book. I also liked gears of war. Now that that contradictory statement is over; an opinion is an opinion. You hate Twilight; fine. I've certainly read worse books, and definitely read better ones too. It all depends on what you want from a book. I think it falls under the "girly" category, but then again; I read it for Vampires. I didn't see much of that and I hoped the three sequels would give it some more and thats exactly what I didn't get.

Okay, okay, so If you hate me now that means your naive. If you don't; congratulations, you know that people have the right to their own opinion. The movie was shit, I'll just say that. It certainly didn't help the series. If you actually read the book and hated it, fine. If you haven't; WHY ARE YOU SO PISSED? To hate a book is to read it and say that it was bad (the movie does not count).

As to why I'm posting such a long essay type thing; I just want to get a point across. People can have their own opinions on books, movies, and even people. If you hate Twilight and its fanbase, good; you can hang out with Harry and they can twat it up somewhere else. If you hate people because they read it; they must have not shut up about it. If you like the book, whatever. Who really cares who likes what. (If I come off a bit rude in this post, I realize it.

'I want to have sex with you, but since you're not yet (a vampire/Married) it would probably kill you'
Then later when Edward and What's her name DO have sex:
Girl- 'Now that I'm pregnant, I guess I'm simply going to go through with the pregnancy (Pro-life), despite the child crushing my internal organs and breaking my ribs because he's part human part vampire.'
When she's giving birth, it goes into the Gorey cesarean that the vampire's preform so she can have the child, probably scaring the thousands of young female readers of the book so that they won't have sex.

I hated Lord of the Rings. I couldn't get past the first chapter because of the utter crap spluttered across the papers of that book.

It's like everywhere you look there's jargon about how Edward Cullen is "like, soooooo dreamy, and, like, sooooooooooo sexy." I read the book before the film came out to see what people were so excited about. The story was barely tolerable before the film.
