Why do Europeans call Communist Kickball Football?
because you kick with your feet.
see it's logical,unlike american football.
Not really, in football you run with your feet, you kick with your feet, and there is indeed a ball.
ah yes, but in the internationally recognized version, there is no hand contact apart from with the goalkeeper. While you kick with your feet in american football, the hands play a major role in it as well, you throw with your hands, carry the ball along etc. It's got much more in common with rugby than with football to be honest.

Because we use our feet the whole match:)
But it is exclusively played by communists and you kick a ball hence the proper name: Communist Kick Ball.
I didn't know the whole world was communist:p

Also we do more than kick the ball...wait why am I argueing with this lol.
American =/= Communist. Not American = Communist.

Correction. They stole it from the scots.Though i probably got over there because of immigrants.

OP:I really don't know.
Meh same difference... The point is the same, the name is derived from a different game thtat used the feet.
I know,i'm just proud of where i came from :)

Also who gives a shit what we call a sport. No one has legal rights to the name so just enjoy sport you like. If it bothers some Europeans that much then don't watch American football.
i don't watch it nor does it bother me.

Why is Rugby called Rugby anyway? There are no rugs, bees, or bees in rugs involved.

i've always wondered about this. why do they call it foot-ball.

i've rarely seen people use their feet in this sport (except for the kick in the bug U thingy) also most balls i know are round, like a sphere. this ''ball'' is not.

i just don't get it.(this thread is not meant offensive or as a rant)
And I just don't get why people constantly complain about this. The only thing I understand less is how anyone can find European Football that exciting. It is kind fun to play, though. It's just doesn't ring my bell as a spectator sport.

If it bugs you that much, think of them as foot soldiers or something. The quarterback is often referred to as a field general, anyway. So that might make more sense.
i'm not complaining. i'm wondering about something.
just a question. (if youre gonna qoute me be sure to have read my post)

It was named after a school called 'Rugby School'.

the same reason rugby is still refered to as "football". they all share roots in the same sport (the closest form to that original sport now is association football, or 'soccer'). but the place-name stuck to the sport in rugby's case.

EDIT: just to clarify, we (the british) called it soccer to begin with. we can't blame the rest of the world for the term catching on.

in ultimate frisbee you can block the disc with your feet and you run with your feet. there is indeed a frisbee. does that mean we should call it "foot frisbee"?
though i realise i chose a bad example here, as "ultimate" frisbee is about the stupidest name for a sport i've ever heard.

And you have raised more questions than answers. Why is the school called the Rugby school exactly? Do they teach children how to put bees in rugs there or something?

Well they were going to call it groundroll but it was already taken, i joke.

It was probably derived from another type of football and it stuck.
