If someone thinks Americans shy away from killing their own kind in video games, then i do not know how modern warfare 2, the GTA series, the Saints row series, Vanquish, etc etc received the accolades that they did.

I can probably name more games where you kill americans than games where you kill british or russian.

Now, I'm no expert on colonial-era weaponry, but I'm pretty sure the idea of a bayonet was not that you put your ENTIRE FUCKING GUN through the enemy. The barrel would get clogged up with blood and giblets!

Conner doesn't seem to keep the muskets he uses, so it doesn't really matter. And it would be foolish anyway in a close combat situation, since it takes so long to reload. It's only use to him would be as a really unbalanced melee weapon, and he has a sword, so...

Not all native americans, but there were serval clans that were being systematically eliminated by Patriots. I wasn't talking about history as a whole just durring this war, and although trying to force british imperialism wasn't fair, neither were the crimes the Patriots commited.

I am fairly sure, by which I mean I'm certain, that that's not how bayonets work. It doesn't give you the power to ram a gun barrel through a man's entire body.

Maybe they'll actually have moral greyness in this, which I've wanted from the start, but they haven't been showing any. It's like Assassin's Creed 2 all over again.

I'm not saying that the patriots were innocent, just that Britain doesn't have the high ground in this situation and complaining that Britain is being depicted as being killed for their violent imperialism is like Germans complaining because WWII games show them as the people being shot at for their violent method of obtaining Lebensraum.

I realize its Goodwin, but COD is the only game I can think of off the top of my head that demonizes another European country for their actions. :/

Yeah, the patriots were killing several Native tribes... the ones that sided with the British. Just like the British were doing to any tribe that sided with the rebels.

I guess 4 Americans to the countless British is at least a start. But to be honest I think I've lost interest in the franchise now. Not because of the killing British people thing, I just don't really see enough new to make it worth buying. Maybe I'll get it once the Complete Edition comes out, or whatever they choose to call it this time round.

Same here. I didn´t liked the milking of AC2 with two spin-offs. After the second AC i thought they move on and show Desmond using all the learned stuff and going after the Templars. That was a long time ago.

Britain, (and other european powers) were complete dicks in parts of history. I'll even admit that early imperialism was very morally wrong, but I don't think the Amercian Revolution is the place to show it.

Agreed, perhaps a game set in Africa would have been a better place to show it. Its odd[footnote] or maybe not, considering the old rivalry between England and France[/footnote] to have the American revolution be the place to show that European imperialism is wrong.

All I have to say is, so what? Killing is killing in games. You can kill Americans in Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto, and many of them don't even have weapons to defend themselves. Sure those games take it a lot less seriously. But also consider Spec Ops: The Line, where your primary enemy is rogue American soldiers.
