To be fair to the people on the escapist, I don't recall seeing any Brits claiming moral high ground on imperialism against the US. On Youtube however, I have seen Englishmen try to claim the moral high ground when Irish history is brought up and that the Irish should "stop complaining, because it wasn't that bad". I think that guy was what you guys call a Chav.Gizmo1990 said:As a Brit I hope that if you find anyone of my fellow County men/women who do try to claim the moral high ground, that you rip them a new one because they are beyond stupid. I mean we had the largest Empire in history and we got it by going to other peoples countries, shooting anyone who looked at us funny and then made the survivors our *****. How can anyone claim that we were the good guys? But I do have to say I have never really come accross any Brit doing so. As a people we seem to be good at admiting what major douche nozzles we were back then.Helmholtz Watson said:As I said before, I'm not saying the patriots were innocent, just that Britain is in no position to claim the moral high ground.Mrcolie5 said:Actually during the revoluntionary war, the colonial forces where quite anit- the native americans and killed quite a few of them, quite a few notable clans such as the iroquise sided with the British for this reasonHelmholtz Watson said:At the time, they were not committing a genocide against all Native Americans, so your comment is a red herring.Blazing Steel said:Was it also right for the Patriots commit genocide against the native americans at the same time?Helmholtz Watson said:Because the imperialistic British were in the right for forcing their government on the colonies?Artemis923 said:GOOD. I dont want an "ASSASINS FER AMURICA" game. I want people to push the envelope and get past this juvenile "I'm good, you're bad" rut that gaming is in.
This was a war of two evils, so they should be shown equally.
Equally? *looks at African history, Irish history, Indian history, and Chinese history* lol, the two are hardly the same.
