I've yet to find an alcoholic drink that doesn't taste like alcohol. And I think the reason is that they all contain alcohol. So my question is, who actually likes the taste of alcohol? I don't think it's a flavor that humans are supposed to enjoy.
If you want flavor then go for wine or a good dark hoppy beer, also try to drink & eat. Get falvors an textures the mlend together and support each other.
This. Or, learn yourself some good cocktail recipes. I have a very nice hard cover book called Ultimate Bar Book which covers all cocktails and all bases (vodka, gin, rum, ect.) You can scale back the base to your liking.
Im with you on that, but I like food way to much.
True, plus grains help with a hangover (if you happen to get one). Actually that's why I don't drink so much. I can handle my booze fine but the next day I'm not doin' a damn thing cause I don't handle hangovers well. Never did.

Well it's kind of like when people ask how I can live with a webbed toe, it's a part of my existence and I have no other experiences of uh, not having a webbed toe to compare it to. Besides, it's not like it's too difficult to just illegally get beer (Fishing as us Aussies call it, mainly just finding a guy off the street who looks old enough and giving him the cash to buy the beer)

I actually drank more before I was 21 than after I turned 21. It just was not "legal". But who gives a shit till one gets busted by the cops right? What they don't know won't piss them off. ;)

Seeing as all out beer is shite, it's quite easy... Until you drink Guinness, that's just down right dangerous.
Not all American brews are shit. I am sorry all you have drunken is PBR, Coors, and Miller. Drink some Arrogant Bastard Ale, Widmer Hefewiezen, Fat Tire Amber Ale, Barney Flats Oat Meal Stout, or Drop Top Ale. The list is actually really, really long. Here is a great place to start.

Or here: http://www.arrogantbastard.com/

Or here: http://www.avbc.com/

This list of great breweries is pretty long as well. So please, stop spreading lies and ignorance about great American brews.

Like everyone has been saying, if we want alcohol before the age of 21, we can get it easily. However, I choose not to drink anyway.

I don't drink and I never will, so the legal drinking age changes nothing for me. But seriously... Nobody obeys the legal drinking age.
Exactly this. I'm 27 in a few days and have never touched alcohol in my life. You know what? I don't feel like I've missed out on anything by doing so. I've seen the results of alcohol fueled "fun" and think it's idiotic, so I don't ever intend to participate.

How do I cope with not drinking? By enjoying life in other ways. I write, I ride my bike, I play video games, I spend time with my wife watching movies/having sex/playing games/etc., and many many other things. I like being able to remember my weekends.

Good for you people. More beer and booze for the rest of us. ;)

I don't drink. So being underage does nothing either way. But it does give me an excuse to avoid having a drink with somebody without needing to explain my non-drinker status. Strangely, people understand blind obedience to the law better than standing on principal.

Indeed. Enjoy, sir. Cheers. I'll have a root beer.

Personally, I have no problem with people who drink a bit socially, just the ones who get completely wasted then do something retarded and use "I was drunk" as an excuse. Yeah, you know exactly what happens when you drink a lot of liquor and yet you chose to do so anyway. You're not excused from your bad behavior.

Yah, I am annoyed by those people as well. People are idiots, what else is new? They just stupider when they get drunk.

We drink and do drugs to cope, not sure it's coping with the not being able to drink or with the inept parenting though.

I'd have thought so. I drink, occasionally, and I'm hardly 'legal' myself, even for English standards. (I is 15)

I personally cope by taking prescription medications for ADD that would cause potentially life-threatening side effects if mixed with alcohol. It's a tough sacrifice, but I'm just that committed.

Bite your tounge. Okay, your beer is horsepiss, but you gave the world Jack Daniels!
