Well, I'm nothing if not consistent, and I think wanting your boyfriend to act like Edward Cullen is around the same amount as unhealthy (probably not AS unhealthy though) as wanting your girlfriend to bend into a preztel shape on demand because you saw it in a porno once.
Actually, given how abusive that relationsip comes off, it might be worse than just being ignorant enough to think it's normal to bend that way.
Oh yeah the relationships very unhealthy, I just put it down as less unhealthy because even if you asked an otherwise nice boyfriend to act like Edward Cullen or Whatsisface Grey, they probably would try and growl and be macho but I imagine the novelty would wear off before much damage was done, people can't change personalities on demand. Also because bending your girlfriend in a spur of the moment thing could be more immediate painful.

His exact words `Well that woman (from porn) seemed to enjoy it.`

I'm just like `That's.... her..... job`. Ugh.
She enjoyed it and it's her job. Some people get all the luck! Next you'll be telling me they get free coffee and biscuits.

Personal question: why do you use the ` for quotes rather than the real (single) quote mark (')?
I think the thing some guys struggle with is that if they're paid to look like they're enjoying it, then the guys may not know what women actually enjoy. Which can lead to guys just trying to rub random areas and hoping it will lead to magic, and some girls very awkwardly having to ask what the fuck they're trying to do.

And thank you very much for asking: my keyboard's really weird. Apart from the letters, some things are not in the right place. I'm not sure I have a hashtag button at all (though I don't really use it, I'm not one of those people). My 2 button says it's @ but it's really ". Maybe it's an American set up? I just find ` easier to use rather than looking at the keyboard for '.

EDIT: On second inspection- my keyboard's not as fucked up as I thought. And I do use ' when doing other grammar. I never thought about the quotation thing before. Perhaps it's bad manners from too many sloppy Skype conversations.

True, but at the same time there's far too many negative assumptions made about these women in the industry too. Obviously because some might find it enjoyable wouldn't mean all women would find it enjoyable, even awkward that some have already pointed out, hence why I say it's important to discuss it with your partner. But just because an actor is paid for to do it because it's their job doesn't mean that they can't or don't genuinely enjoy it either.

I don't watch a lot really, its very rarely containing all the elements I need to get anything out of it short of just an easy "release", which is the last thing I ever want to do. I think delving into it can be interesting in seeing what you like and don't, drawing your own lines and whatnot. Naturally too much without a step back and you'll fuck yourself up, you lose perspective and you'll lose the line between fiction and reality.

It's also garbage for teaching you anything, it exists for pure titillation with exaggerated EVERYTHING and is really quite awful for anyone who knows little to nothing about sex. Of course that assumes they don't expand upon where they draw their definition which sadly most do, it isn't like there are elements like the emotional part and the value of it in a relationship that are decided by the individuals.

Oh, I was thinking more actually being like Edward than playing like him. My bad.

I was going to say, that "American" thing sounded off to me. :p Mostly because despite the use of the letter u in many things, I am an American.

...just don't tell anyone. It'll ruin my rep.

Within the confines of a porn shoot, you're not likely to enjoy much of anything. Even the guys resort to things like viagra to keep up appearances.

Most of the actors' thoughts and views tend to be generally mixed and spread out over the spectrum.

I'd like to see one female pornstar who doesn't have moderate to severe emotional problems stemming from sexual abuse.

Even if you could demonstrate that, you're still talking about the profession work which has nothing to do with theor proclivities. Do you know how many straight guys work in gay porn?

I read an interesting article years ago about the economic impact of Viagra around the world. One of the most immediate effects was the extinction of the "Fluffer" as a job in porn. Overnight, it just died and was replaced by a pill. It also changed who you got to be your star, because the only things you cared about now are purely cosmetic, not their ability to maintain an erection and hold their load. Keeping in mind as I say that, that a lot of guys used drugs anyway, often amphetamines or topical anesthetics. Viagra is a better, and healthier choice for everyone involved.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, because porn stars frequently talk about viagra use these days.

Yes, I am aware of that.

You base that statement on what evidence?
Based on from their own views in articles, interviews, blogs, etc. Likewise, I have yet to see a study or testimony from you that suggests or confirms that the majority of them don't or can't genuinely enjoy their work or the things they do or partake in even when acting.

There's plenty of them
http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2012/11/28/porn_stars_and_childhood_molestation_new_study_says_porn_actresses_are_sexually.html

But if you need specific examples, Asa Akira and Asia Carrera.

Fascinating thing I learned about the explosion of Viagra, Cialis, etc in the industry. Back when I was in the Service, I had a Soldier who used to work in the porn industry (he just worked in distributions, nothing sexy). Anyway, he was telling us that over the past few years, there had been an explosion of new extremely well-endowed male actors entering the industry. The reason? Thanks to Viagra, cialis, levitra, etc. extremely well-endowed guys who would normally have difficulty maintaining a strong erection for a long period of time (due to the much larger amount of blood it required) were now able to maintain those erections thanks to the proliferation of easy to get ED drugs, and were able to do porn. So the industry had this flood of guys who knew they had the assets, but not previously the ability, to be porn stars.

I'd love to see some of those studies, interviews, articles, and so on, can you link to them?
Sure. It will take me a while to look for them again, but once I have them up, I'll link them.

I love the sight of nude women, but I will never understand the appeal of watching other people having sex. I've actually asked a few people and I've gotten the answer "ideas." Now that doesn't make sense to me either because the few times I have seen hardcore porn nothing in there looks like anything I'd want to do. Then again.... actually I'm just going to leave it at that.

It seems then that you should be aware that your argument is completely irrelevant to anything the people involved had been talking about previously.

There's almost certainly at least one. If one were to be found, what difference would it make?
