I was thinking with

B) Blood
C) Gore
F) Dark depiction of Link
G) Other

it could work - and be a pretty cool game. Reading everything above though, makes me realize that with this stuff it wouldn't be a Zelda game anymore. I would love to see a darker Zelda game, but it doesn't have to use foul language and sex to create that environment.

it would work. Since link to the past they've been dark and gritty. It wouldnt be hard to do. I would expect something similar to god of war for style

No.
Seriously, that would be like making M-rated Sonic, or M-rated Mario. It just wouldn't work.
It'd be hilarious, but it wouldn't work.
I'm not quite sure about this, I think it would work better then Sonic or Mario.

As an earlier poster mentions, OoT introduced "mature" themes over a decade ago, that is to say, the Shadow Temple and more importantly the well. We may ask, would the game have benefited from more violence and blood? Treated correctly, I say yes.

Consider that Link is a child for the first third of the game, and yet he is constantly put in mortal danger. Realistically every time Link dies, you just killed a little kid. However, the point is that Link is very courageous, etc.

For the remainder of the game Link has drawn the Master Sword, aged seven years, and had the Triforce of Courage appear in his hand. Now what if everything appeared realistically violent? What if the player was led to conclude that young Link was courageous out of naivete? There is plenty of evidence in the game to suggest this view anyway. Realistic violence would then merely be one more artistic flourish in a game like OoT.

My point is that although Zelda games are traditionally "pg" games, it is for marketing reasons and not purely thematic concerns. I agree that a game like Wind Waker would only suffer from realistic anything, but that is sort of the game's point (although it has its own dark veins of thought).

no chance in hell it would ever work, they would lose a HUGE amount of fanbase
i mean, i'd play it but Nintendo would go bankrupt ;p

Reading everyone of those options for a M-rated version of a Zelda game made me twitch in anger. Link and sex should never be used in the same sentence.

Gore and blood? Limited, but I'de love it. It's about time my sword actually makes a damned impact, same with Oblivion, I want to decapitate dark elves with my huge broadsword dammit!

Swearing? Yes, but make it fit the universe, (old) british swearing for example.

Tits? Check:

A dark depiction of Link? *looks at the green had and white tights* Nooooooot really...

Sex and nudity? Nah don't see a need for that.

In other words: it's partially possible, but for the most part no.

it could work, but only as a spin off
anyway, id expect:
b - blood
c - gore
f - a darker main character

but it's not needed in any sense and if it was, i wouldnt expect gratuitous amounts of blood and gore, only in like boss battles and bigger enemies

i just think that swearing and more blood would do but without overdoing it, like blood splatter and a pool of blood by dead enemies. LoZ being what it is swearing would be quite harder to work in though.

gore (though not excessive) would be OK but other than that, no. things like seeing Ganon having the Master Sword put through him with blood would be fine but if blood went all over the place, covered Link and sprayed all over the walls, no. really, though, it's great the way it is. if an M rated Zelda game came out, the rating wouldn't make me want it any more. i would be dubious about buying it.

Well, Telma was just there as a gag for older players (especially seeing how Link reacted to seeing her). That wasn't tits for the sake of tits, that was a joke.
