From what I've seen in my experiences of college and high school there are two kinds of people who do well at exams,

The mad people who give up their lives for several months to revise like hell

The there are the insanely smart people who just pass anyway regardless of revision

There are some like me who are a little bit of both and as such I did quite well in my exams however I know people who did far less revision than me and did better...

The OP is probably the latter in terms of intelligence and as such I will defiantly say that there is nothing wrong with this, there isn't anything wrong with doing loads of revision either, its only when evangelical parents decide that their child will do 25 hours of revision a day that it becomes wrong..

Yeah, people hate others who show skill. It's retarded, ignore it. Don't be smug about it though.

Know how you feel dude, us intellectually superior beings are just despised for our ability to not prepare for a test and still make decent, if not above-average marks!

I get that. Only bothered me when I had insecurites in place of friends. Now I have loads of friends. Some of them are A+ students and, lets face it, will probably be my employers in years to come. Que Sera, Sera.

This.

Makes me laugh to no end when I don't study or study 20 minutes before a very lengthy test and then get a 95% on it.

Well, to me people mostly express jealousy rather than anger, so no, I haven't expirienced that. Though I have seen someone been verbally attacked after they start complaining about having gotten a B and not an A (by people who are happy if they get a C).

Nothing´s wrong with beeing smart. Ignore the retards that says otherwise. Some day the same person will be begging you for a job.
Don't be so naive. Businesses in Britain tend to work like this: the people with talent work hard on the frontline while the management is made up of people with little discernable skill, business nous or humanity.
Then the latter group decides the best way to reduce costs is to get rid of the former group instead of cutting their own ridiculously huge f***ing salary.
And then they wonder why the quality of their product has reduced. Their profits start to fall, so they decide they need to cut costs again and the whole vicious cycle continues.

And yes, I have been made redundant recently and I'm bitter. I was caught out the second time they decided to "cut costs", just one year after my company centralised everything to create a "centre of excellence".
My point, basically, is that being smart doesn't pay unless you can second guess what the retards in charge are going to do next.

PS: You misspelt "being". :)

lol how about you tell her to piss off and study up on nerds?
You could tell her about how little she knows about "nerds" and that maybe she should study for once before she starts bitching about how she didn't get a good grade because she didn't study for it.
Sorry, that seems overly mean, I'm just in a shitty mood and it ticks me off when someone says I don't have a life, so I thought I'd just vent on behalf of someone else in the same situation.

Well that sucks, being unimployed that is. Sorry about that.

Im very well aware how the world works, that´s why im my own boss. Most times i know what bullshit move i will come up with next. :)

I try to be polite and diplomatic about stuff, i not sure if that makes me naive or just a person trying to maintain a positive outlook in a world of shit we all would be better of without.

Well, i get you´re point, it just so....bleak.

You must forgive my english spelling. Im from that leprecon shaped island called Denmark, you know, those "Allmost Nazies". :) Cheer up.

Ah, I'll be alright. It's just my last day of work today and I have a raging hangover from a leaving do last night.
Just felt a need to vent to total strangers. :)

I'm going to use my AMAZING power of clairvoyance to judge the main demographic for this site.

You are the age of 16-24
You have above average intelligence, but are an under achiever
You come from a lower middle/middle class family
You enjoy computer because of the fact you can be whoever you want over the internet

Sound like you? Just wanted to bring this up because a lot of gamers are above average intelligence (saying that in the least faggotry way possible), and our skills at general knowledge are very good, because despite the amount of retarded shit that goes on in games, you latch on to key things that are true, for example I'm sure before you played MW, you had no clue what the difference between an M4 and an M16 was. This is the power of games, the power to teach innately (not that that is a very helpful fact)

Oh my God.

Bro, deal with it. The fact that you are complaining about someone upset that you are smarter than them is beyond me. You have no idea what I would give to be naturally talented with study habits and education in general.

Your one and only reaction should be smug pride.

Be thankful. Literally, all my problems in life have stemmed with my parents not being fine with "barely passing"

I never really got that, but what you need to do is, whenever somebody is giving that shit again, you look at them, pull the stupidest grin and ask them " U mad?"

Why do I care said:
So I had a major test last week and got the results tuesday. This was a BIG unit test for U.S. History and this was a good chunk of my grade. Turns out that I aced it 100%. When my neighbor sees my grade, she says, "What is wrong with you?" I respond, "What?" I look over at her test, 63%. And at my school, there is no D, So thats an F.

After that, I get an hours worth of rant about "Nerds have no life, they just study all night" yada yada yada. I question her if being smart is bad. I get the STFU face.

I get annoyed when this kind of phrase "Being smart is dumb" pops up. It's just stupid.

Have you ever have had or seen this kind of issue?
Never ever show your grade to other people. Never look surprised when reading it. Just stash it away and pretend you can't remember what your score is. Having 100% on Physics papers, Maths tests, English Essays, etc was the reason I had very few friends in High School. Dumb people have their uses later in life. Remain friends.

Ignore the ignorant for they know what they say nor the meaning of their words. From one history nerd to another, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being smart. Ohhh US History. I always wanted to that in school!

That rarely happens in my school any more. Mostly when I do well on a test other people say "well done" or something to that effect.
Even during free periods wen we have work set for us most of the people in my classes actually just do the work. I'm glad I'm not in a class full of work shy idiots any more.

same here... at least on stuff like history, geography, language, reading, and stuff like that.

but i always fail at math. math is stupid and pointless. (at least once you reach high school) we all know it. people give me crap for being terrible at math, but i get no credit for doing awesome in other stuff. oh well

Been there, done that.

My biggest issue is if I score 29/30. I dwell and ponder in a "WHY OH WHY" I didn't ace it, even though I got an A.
