Yes.

It's even funnier when I don't study, and still do better than people who study for hours.
This. I didn't study for most of my GCSE exams and I got a majority of 10 Bs, 2 Cs and 2 As. A lot of people who studied didn't even look like getting those grades.

However, at my school, we treat dumb people as dumb people. It's not fair on them, but it's usually because they never put the effort in.

NOTE: I didn't study because I knew the material, not because I wasn't bothered with my grades, I studied like hell for my history A and it paid off.

It bothered me to no end in high school. I would get say an 80, and be unhappy because my average in that course would be a 95 or a 96. People would then give me a hard time because I was unhappy with an 80. I have tried time and again to explain to others that people have different strengths and weaknesses, I was just stronger at school.
Oh yes, to add: STUDY EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED TO. I am in university now, and have zero study skills because I never studied in lower school. With 60 hours of school a week this is imperative.

Been there, done that.

My biggest issue is if I score 29/30. I dwell and ponder in a "WHY OH WHY" I didn't ace it, even though I got an A.
*sniff*
I agree, being one mark off is bothersome, especially if it is a stupid mistake, like one damn minus sign.

Well, you'll have the last laugh when the "popular" kids have trouble holding down jobs that max out at $35k a year while you're entertaining offers from multiple businesses trying to decided if you want the mercedes or audi for a company car.

I hate anti-intellectual responses. These days, it seems to be getting worse. Too bad populism is the trend.

Chin up. Fight the power.

I get better grades in my current school than I've EVER had before.

And I barely study.

It's awesome. But no, I haven't been harrassed for it. XD Although, in art class, everytime someone makes something that looks really good a certain group of people will gloat all over it and repeat the phrase: ", we'll have to kill you now!"

I have countless times and I simply answer "I don't care if I'm a nerd." or "So what if I'm smart?"

Well 10 years later when you're rich you can laugh at her. As we all will do!

Why do I care said:
So I had a major test last week and got the results tuesday. This was a BIG unit test for U.S. History and this was a good chunk of my grade. Turns out that I aced it 100%. When my neighbor sees my grade, she says, "What is wrong with you?" I respond, "What?" I look over at her test, 63%. And at my school, there is no D, So thats an F.

After that, I get an hours worth of rant about "Nerds have no life, they just study all night" yada yada yada. I question her if being smart is bad. I get the STFU face.

I get annoyed when this kind of phrase "Being smart is dumb" pops up. It's just stupid.

Have you ever have had or seen this kind of issue?
Say "It only follows that dumb people think smart is dumb and dumb is smart." If you're going to get ranted at, give a good reason.

I did this all the time, too. Of course, to be fair, all you had to do in high school was show up and pay attention. If you could do that, you knew everything on the test.

OT: Ignore her. Not worth spending your time thinking about some girl who couldn't pass the test. Most likely jealous or upset because her parents are about to be very upset and have a long talk with her. Instead of thinking about it, turn your attention to your studies or something else like friends or games.

I never really had that. It wasn't something that was a big issue at primary school, when I was little, and when I was 11 I started going to a grammar school (UK here). Now I'm at university. So for around nine years I've been surrounded by other people who are just as smart as, if not more than, me.

That being said, my younger brother, who is fairly smart but also really against so-called 'geek culture', makes fun of me for liking things like anime or video games and such, and he keeps on saying that 'being a geek or a nerd is bad'. I always counter with "well, TV and the internet were invented by geeks and nerds, so were computers, so is the technology used to make all the music you love so much, and pretty much everything you enjoy. Without geeks and nerds we'd be stuck in Victorian times, so you have absolutely zero basis to say that being a geek or a nerd is bad."

That usually gets him to shut up and go away.

[small]Though to be fair, being back in Victorian times wouldn't be too bad. Steampunk FTW![/small]

Yeah.

Its just people trying to compensate for the fact they are dumb. They need to feel better about themselves, because someone bested them. dont listen and just keep being smart. You'll get the last laugh when you are hired for a job, or go to college and she doesnt.

Also, thats a weird way for your school to run grades. I've never heard of schools that didnt believe in Ds but beleived in Fs.

One of the people in my history class is upset that I can write 25% of what she writes and still get full marks.

DO BETTER INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING AT ME.

Make fun of them for failing. Whether you do or do not have a life is irrelevant. "How does that F feel? Because I know this perfect feels pretty fuckin' good."
