I maybe wrong, But King Cold is Frieza's dad and Trunks fights him and kills both him and Cyborg Frieza in his first appearance.
Edit: Yeah, sorry if I sound like an ass for this but Trunks killed both King Cold and Mecha Frieza. Wikipedia confirmed it. But Trunks v. King Cold and Mecha Frieza IS an awesome fight.
Yeah true. But Goku did have fights with King Cold and they were still epic :)
Okay, and I wasn't trying to sund like an ass or anything, so don't get me wrong.

-Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Vicious.
That's it. Thanks. I also like the fight in the begining of the movie where Spike and Jet fight those thugs. Also the scene in the show where Spike fights that guy using that drug red eye.
Vicious is the main villain in the series. The movie antagonist was Vincent.
I looked it up and it is Vincent. Thanks for the help. I hate when people name them stuff that sounds really similar, especially villains in anime.

What, no Gainax yet?

Final episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the Gunbuster massacre, Buster Machine No. 7 completely DESTROYING Titan, one of Saturn's moons, the first RE: Cutie Honey OVA with Natsuko VS a horde of Panther Claw lackeys with only one gun on her, all highly entertaining (third one isn't that appetizing, though, considering we have to see a bunch of Topless ripped to pieces by the fluctuating gravity well) and well-animated, though Gunbuster was done in the 80's.

As for the best, though...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zixtPX-W6SY is definitely the best I've seen. Sure, the animation isn't that great, but that's because they were rushed and couldn't finish in time, resulting in what could be called a preview of what's to come. Considering the screencaps I've seen of the DVD version, they made the best fixes possible, turning something with great animation but poor art into a fight so pretty I could cry, and I probably will.

Claymore: Claire vs Priscilla, and most of the limb-removal that leads up to that sequence.

I second any and all mentions of Samurai Champloo.

Huh. I guess if I really had to narrow it down to one, I'd say Rock Lee vs. Gaara.

One of the problems I've noticed with a lot of anime fight scenes is the tendency towards illusory motion, forgoing actual animation by using cinema-style panning and manga-style artwork implying such. Naturally, not all anime suffer from this (especially as CG is becoming more prevalent). And not all anime who use it really suffer for it...

Also a pretty good English dub...provided you ignore Yahiko.

If you want an arguably failed aspect of this...

If it gets too bad, just fast-forward to 3:35. That's the whole reason the thing is worth it.
