The opening for Needless was pure win


The main character is a psychotic priest....... who happens to be a clone of the second Christ.

Such a great show, it nearly has Tengen Toppa level of over the topness, but instead of giant robots its like DBZ.

This show, along with DBZ was the show I most watched as a kid.

Although looking back now, It has not really aged well.

I am also a big fan of the first Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood opening.

I think somebody already mentioned it, but season 2 of Death Note.I thought it fit the show better than the first opening, as it kinda played on Kira's descent into madness.

How did I forget Baccano?! I thought of Lucky Star, but was like eh about it. I only saw one episode of Haibane Renmei and Fate/Zero, and don't remember the OPs. Angel Beats' OP could have been much better, and because of that I find it hard to decide if I like it or not. Forgot about After Story's. Its a good song, but I hate the series quite a bit, so its not something that comes to mind when I think of "good anime."
I haven't seen any of the other anime, although I've heard of all of them. Actually going to watch Usagi Drop and The Count of Montecristo next, as I finished Mitsudomoe season 2 a little while ago.

Well, not all the animes I named were series I liked. I hated Mawaru Penguindrum and Working!!, but I liked their openings. Others were stuff I was a bit meh about but decided to add anyways.

I'm currently watching Full Metal Alchemist (I know I'm late to the game) and the intros are extremely underwhelming.

The Black Butler and Soul Eater themes amped me WAY up to watch the episode and got me excited. The FMA theme makes me... well... bored.

Random non-canon craziness go! Hyouka is just good in general to be honest. The openings are arguably better still.

Oh and this, for nostalgia's sake at least:


The manliness of this series is at least over 9000. It is confirmed that the amount of wear and tear of your clothing is actually your health bar. So someone wears a dress made of iron to combat this in the manga.

I love the openings of Bleach and Naruto, but that's too many to list obviously. "chAngE" by Miwa is one of my favorites for Bleach, and just adore openings 5, 6, and 7 of Naruto Shippuden. They do a great job of getting you excited for the arcs covered.

Gintama's fifth opening, "Donten," by Does is one of my favorite openings, though it's more because the song is catchy.

The ending that uses "Some Like it Hot (Samurai Heart)" by SPYAIR one of my favorite endings. The title is also a terrible pun.

Unfortunately it's all but impossible to find just the opening animations on youtube.

Durarara's first ending is catchy as hell, and is also really parody-able, leading to amazing stuff like

The song is really good, but they really went above and beyond with the scenes they included by drawing on actual historical artwork of the historical/mythological figures. The ultimate case of "meh opening, GOOOOOOD series" is Magi Madoka. The only thing I can say about that show without spoiling anything is it's one of the best animes in a long time (hell, of all time) and to go see it as soon as possible.

It's part of the misdirection, so I'd say it does its job at least. The song is catchy though.

As for the Berserk opening, I consider it to be the absolute worst anime opening I've ever seen. I love the series though.

I liked the OD and ED og madoka magica....
Its interesting to look at the pictured used in the opening theme because many of the ideas that got editted out of the series is still left there

No mention of Desert Punk's fantastic Cosplay Intro? It's one of the few openings I watch every single time! I have never wanted an outfit (and a Fallout: New Vegas mod) so much in my entire life! Shame they had to change it *grumble grumble*
