I need some help.

I'm tring to get my sister to watch anime, but I have no Idea what kind of anime to show her. I know that she likes "One Tree Hill" and "Twilight", but thats about it. So you can see why I'm having so much trouble finding an anime. Most of the stuff I watch, she wouldn't even try (Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Baccano!). I don't really care what kind of anime it is, I only what to show her that anime can be for girls too.

If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

If she's the kind of girl to like Twilight then show her Hetalia. Its basically a yaoi fuel show so she'll love it. Stay away from shows that have plot or make the viewer think (Deathnote) or have deep characters (Samurai Champloo) or are even good at all. Hetalia will keep her hormone controlled mind at bay.

Ayashi no Ceres. Its short, but I loved it when I was 16. Its still one of my favourites now, too. <3
[[what makes it similar (BUT BETTER) than twilight: It has a complicated love triangle, the main guy is enigmatic and mysterious, the girl is just an everyday girl that gets sucked into paranormal stuff happening in everyday japan (and no one seems to notice) AND ... uh, I can't think of anything else.]]

also

Fuushigi Yuugi... its by the same artist, its a lot longer, but its also pretty good.

EDIT: Chobits is another favourite. =)

She likes One Tree HIll and Twilight?

Hmm...then I'd say show her any anime that doesn't involve much brian function. So I guess Hetalia?

Isn't there a whole genre of girly anime out there? The only thing I can think of that might fit is Tenchi Muyo. It's far from my area of expertise.

Any particular motivation to evangelize anime?

The promble is that I don't know if she will watch yaoi, because she is very religous. And I know she likes plot and deep charaters in her story (I have no idea why she likes Twillight).

Even so, thanks for the suggestion, I look it up.

Dude... One Tree Hill and Twilight?

Just give her a ball of string to play with.

My friend's sister likes those and I was very shocked to find out she was a bit clever. I mean my friend got into Cambridge but we just assumed he got EVERY SINGLE BRAIN CELL in the family. But I guess there were a few left over, enough for her to best my GCSE results (though to be fair she did do fucking DANCE).

We walked in on her and her friend discussing movies and her friend said "I honestly think Step Up 2: The Streets is the best movie ever". I really felt bad about laughing in her face, twas a bit harsh in retrospect.

How about Vampire Knight? And maybe Blood+, too. There's vampires in both, and isn't that all girls want these days? I think that would fit right in with the rest of the stuff she likes.

You know, garbage.

How about a bit of Studio Ghibli? Strong story lines often featuring a female protagonist, glorious artwork and use of themes.

Really?

Get some tissues.

"Grave of the Fireflies". It's an anime film and can be found on Youtube in its entirety at this moment. I never cry during movies.....this one made me sob.

Other than that, look up films by Miyazaki.

Spirited Away being genius. My Neighbor Totoro being adorable and heart-warming. Grave of the Fireflies being soulcrushingly sad.

Nodame Cantabile is a non 'fighting series anime' that shows the beauty of classical music, and the amazing talent of musicians. If you like classical music, and drama, it is the anime ta watch. If you don't, then it's a great gateway into a beautiful world of art that has survived more years then any Lady Blah Blah crap ever will. Plus it's cute and original.

Ooooh, try Fullmetal Alchemist.
I second that notion. Although, judging by her favorites, she may need to watch another show to ease in her into it. For that, I would heavily suggest Fruits Basket: Girl meets cursed family that's 80% pretty boys and relationship stories abound. Can't go too wrong with that.

Love Hina, Fruits Backet, Ah! My Goddess, Full moon wo Sagashite, Mahoromatic. They are kind of romantic type animes, which would probably work for her. Well, Full Moon isn't really "romantic" but it is pretty good.

My ex-wife loved Fruits Basket. Couldn't get much girlier.
