The one that started it all, the fat kids whose parents sued McDonalds for making their kids fat. If you don't let them eat that crap, it's your own stupid fault. Also, that cannon-balled into obesity being called an epidemic. No, the actual cause of obesity many cases are laziness. Yes, I know genetics are involved, but if you exercise and take care of your body, genetics don't make much of a difference.

All the times fast food restaurants got sued for making people fat.
If I rememeber correctly, Super Size Me said the Hamburger Bill in 2003 made it illegal to sue resturants for obesity.
At least the legal system isn't completely fucked up.

Stella Lieback started it when she sued McDonald's for their coffee being too hot.

Fuck lawyers. All they do is weasel their way around the system, making congressmen have to do all kinds of work. (If they do any at all, after they get elected they just party.)

How does that even work, their own home? They shouldn't have to worry about people falling through their roof and landing on knives.
the problem with this story and several of the other ones is that its likely they were just spread to help get ppl behind tort reform that would screw with people, if you can find an actualy news report of this that would be something but Ill bet it will be elusive

Don't forget the lady who sued McDonalds for her coffee being hot!

The story about the dude landing on a knife is from the movie Liar Liar, not real life.

There is a guy in real life, however, who's nickname is Johnny Suenami, and he is suing Guiness Book of World Records for him having the world record for most lawsuits. Ironic, huh? It was in the newspaper this weekend.

I heard about one where a guy got drunk, snuck over to his neighbor's house, jumped in his pool, and drowned. The neighbor was sued for not putting a fence around his pool, and he lost.

A burglar suing the victims because they fought back. In Ireland, you can do that.

If someone came into your house to steal or terrorise, you cannot use a weapon against them, as it is "preparing for attack" or something like that. The only way around it was if the burglar came on to the second floor, and you have your weapon on the second floor.

Anyway, long story short, the burglar won due to the "assault" against the victims.

This is why we take the law in our own hands here in Ireland. And whatever you do, don't fuck with the farmers.
Its true - You in Eire or NI? in the UK you cant really do much against a thief, Cept Citizens arrest...Feck that...Pass me the bat.

I heard a similar story that a thief fell through the roof of a garage and had to survive 2 weeks whilst the owners were away on holiday, The only things he had for sustanence was dog food & pepsi. he sued for a 6 figure sum, Im not sure if he won.

Eire. Been living here for 7 years now. Came from a town where you feared the law and that it was everywhere to here was a major shock to the system.

We don't have swings at our schools anymore becuase some kid got kicked in the face by an incoming swing riding kid. I am troubled about the future of the 21st century children if they don't have swings...

I know Jack thompson kept sueing various gaming developers (rockstar was a target methinks) for various things, Mainly because irrisponsible parents buy theyre 13 yr old sons GTA without looking at the mandatory censorship on the box. You wouldnt buy a kid that age the exorcist on DVD, and GTA is in the same braket!

Stuff like that riles the shit out of me ¬¬

No swing?! but how will kids chase their dreams of flight? every child has to go flying off a swing at least once for their childhood to be complete.

Also in 1991, a guy called Richard Overton sued the bud light beer company for false advertising. Where was the fallacy? well it was because the ad featured beautiful women and tropical islands magically appearing after two men drank a bud light. Richard was reatarded enough to believe this shit and sued because said women and islands failed to appear after he consumed a bud light, he claimed emotional stress and mental injury because of this. Thankfully he lost.

Jack Thompson deserves to be set on fire, then being droven to death by bicycles. after that we burn him on a bonfire as a witch.

You have to ask the question - When hooking that man's testes to a car battery, what would hurt more, The electricity or the Crocodile clips?

I suggest hot pokers. Everyone loves hot pokers.

I recall once a guy sued the Chicago Bulls mascot. Apparently, the mascot was giving high-fives, and somehow dislocated the guy's shoulder while doing so. And yes, the guy was reaching out to give a high-five back. I'm not sure who won.

First thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers. (Thank you, William Shakespeare, for that wonderful quote.)

Then we'll appoint Joseph Wapner, the original People's Court judge, as Supreme Justicar. Never mind these month-long trials- Judge Wapner could bang out two or three decisions in half an hour. And he doesn't have time for your nonsense and legalese; if you don't have a good case or a reasonable defense, you lose.

Never mind warp speed. Prepare for Wapner speed- the speed of LAW.
